2. This notice shall come into force the day after its publication in the New Zealand Gazette.

3. The Wellington Institute of Technology Council shall be constituted as follows:

(a) Four persons appointed by the Minister of Education;

(b) The Chief Executive Officer of Wellington Institute of Technology;

(c) One permanent member of the academic staff of Wellington Institute of Technology elected by the permanent members of that staff;

(d) One permanent member of the general staff of Wellington Institute of Technology elected by the permanent members of that staff;

(e) One member who is a student of Wellington Institute of Technology appointed by the governing body of the Students’ Association;

(f) One member appointed by Wellington Institute of Technology Council on the nomination of Te Runanganui o Taranaki Whanui ki te Upoko o Te Ika a Maui;

(g) One member appointed by the Wellington Institute of Technology Council after consultation with the NZ Employers’ Federation Inc;

(h) One member appointed by the Wellington Institute of Technology Council after consultation with the NZ Council of Trade Unions;

(i) Four members co-opted by Wellington Institute of Technology Council (and who are not employees of Wellington Institute of Technology) to ensure specified requirements for competencies, knowledge and experience are covered on the council.

4. The term of office of members of the council, vacation of office, disclosure of members’ interest and casual vacancies are covered in sections 173–176 of the Education Act 1989.

5. Subject to section 173 of the Education Act 1989, the term of office for any member, other than the chief executive officer, shall be four years. A member of council, other than the chief executive, may serve for a maximum of three terms.

6. The Constitution of Wellington Institute of Technology Notice 2001 appearing in the New Zealand Gazette, 12 April 2001, No. 40, page 878, is hereby revoked.

Land Set Apart for Local Purpose (Esplanade) Reserve—Opoto Creek, Kaukapakapa

Pursuant to sections 20 and 52(1)(b) of the Public Works Act 1981, and to a delegation from the Minister for Land Information, Paul Stephen Kelly, Land Information New Zealand, declares the land described in the Schedule to this notice to be set apart for the purpose of a local purpose (esplanade) reserve and shall become vested in the Rodney District Council on the date of publication of this notice in the New Zealand Gazette.
