Pursuant to section 14 (1) of the Agricultural Compounds and Veterinary Medicines Act 1997, the Director-General of the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry hereby gives notice that the following application has been made to register a trade name product under section 9 (1) of the Agricultural Compounds and Veterinary Medicines Act 1997:

Active Ingredient and Concentration: Meloxicam 1.000mg/tablet

General Use Claim: Alleviation of inflammation and pain in both acute and chronic musculo-skeletal disorders.

Any person may make a written submission to the Director-General, under section 17 of the Agricultural Compounds and Veterinary Medicines Act 1997, concerning any application notified above.

Such submissions:

(a) must state in full the reasons for making the submission;

(b) may state any decision sought on that application;

(c) must be received by the Director-General no later than 30 working days after the date of notification in the New Zealand Gazette; and

Biosecurity Act 1993

Approval of Nelson Airport as a Place of First Arrival (Notice No. 1516)

Pursuant to section 37 of the Biosecurity Act 1993, notice is given that

Nelson Airport

was approved on 3 April 2006, as a place of first arrival into New Zealand.

This approval:

(a) is restricted to those kinds of light aircraft not capable of carrying more than 12 persons (including crew) for the importation of:

• passengers and crew
• baggage (including spares, stores and personal effects).

(b) does not authorise the arrival of aircraft carrying general cargo (including live animals, fresh produce, vehicles and machinery).

The written notice of approval may be inspected free of charge at the head office of the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, Pastoral House, 25 The Terrace, Wellington.
