Food Act 1981

Amendment to Food Standards
(Notice No. 1511)

Pursuant to section 11G of the Food Act 1981, notice is given that the New Zealand (Australia New Zealand Food Standards Code) Food Standards 2005, Amendment No. 14, was issued by the Minister for Food Safety on 1 March 2006 and comes into force 28 days following publication of this notice in the New Zealand Gazette.

These Food Standards can be viewed on the New Zealand Food Safety Authority web site:

or can be inspected free of charge at the New Zealand Food Safety Authority, 86 Jervois Quay, Wellington, or purchased from Bennetts or Whitcoulls bookshops.

Education Act 1989

Amendment of Notice of Direction to Appoint a Limited Statutory Manager for the Board of Trustees of Waiouru School (2472)

Pursuant to section 78M of the Education Act 1989, I hereby amend the notice published in the New Zealand Gazette, 18 March 2004, No. 30, page 688, regarding the direction to appoint a limited statutory manager for the Waiouru School Board of Trustees because of risk to the operation of the school and the educational performance of its students.

The following functions, powers and duties of the board are to be vested in a limited statutory manager:

● All functions, powers and duties of the board as an employer (whether statutory or otherwise);
● all functions, powers and duties of the board to manage curriculum and assessment practice (whether statutory or otherwise);
● all functions, powers and duties of the board to manage financial operations (whether statutory or otherwise);
● ensuring development and implementation of an action plan to address the issues identified in the October 2005 Education Review Office report; and
● board organisation and management.

The limited statutory manager must also advise the board on the following:

● Consolidating all new and improved systems into board management practice.

This notice takes effect the day after the date of publication.

Pursuant to section 78M of the Education Act 1989, I direct the Secretary for Education to appoint a limited statutory manager for Te Kura Kaupapa Maori o Te Matai Board of Trustees because of risks to the operation of the school and the educational performance of its students.

The following functions, powers and duties of the board are to be vested in a limited statutory manager:

● All functions, powers and duties of the board as an employer (whether statutory or otherwise);
● all functions, powers and duties of the board to manage curriculum and assessment practice (whether statutory or otherwise);
● ensuring areas for improvement identified in the June 2005 Education Review Office report are implemented; and
● board organisation and management.

A limited statutory manager must also advise the board on the following:

● The functions, powers and duties of the board to manage financial operations.

This notice takes effect the day after the date of publication.

The following functions, powers and duties of the board in relation to the Porirua College buildings replacement project are to be vested in a limited statutory manager:

● All functions, powers and duties of the board as an employer (whether statutory or otherwise);
● all functions, powers and duties of the board to manage curriculum and assessment practice (whether statutory or otherwise);
● all functions, powers and duties of the board to manage financial operations (whether statutory or otherwise);
● ensuring development and implementation of an action plan to address the issues identified in the October 2005 Education Review Office report; and
● board organisation and management.

The limited statutory manager must also advise the board on the following:

● Consolidating all new and improved systems into board management practice.
