Notice of Approval of Hazardous Substances in Special Emergency
Pursuant to section 49H of the Hazardous Substances and New Organisms Act 1996 ("HSNO Act"), the Environmental Risk Management Authority hereby gives notice that on 10 November 2006, it approved an application for the aerial use of Engage Ant Bait and Distance Ant Bait in a special emergency declared under section 49B of the HSNO Act.
The special emergency to which the approval relates is the incursion of the red imported fire ant (Solenopsis invicta) at Whirinaki as declared by the Minister for Biosecurity on 30 October 2006.
The application was approved pursuant to section 49F of the HSNO Act, with the following controls:
- The substances may only be used if the special emergency is managed in accordance with the treatment management plan and application specified by the applicant;
- Distance Ant Bait shall not be aerially applied within a 50 metre buffer zone around waterways;
- the approval takes effect on the date of this decision and expires on 30 June 2007; and
- on expiry of this approval, the Engage Ant Bait and Distance Ant Bait must not be used by aerial methods, unless, before the expiry of the approval, the applicant has, under any other provision of the Act, been granted an approval.

Notice of Intention to Apply for Approval of Code of Practice
Pursuant to section 79 of the Hazardous Substances and New Organisms Act 1996, the Environmental Risk Management Authority gives notice that Greentank Limited intends to apply for the approval of the Code of Practice for the Design and Construction of Above Ground Stationary Tanks to ULC-ORD-C80.1-2000.
This code specifies requirements for fibreglass above ground stationary tanks for the storage of up to 1200 litres of diesel and low flash point diesel.
Under clause 8 (2) (h) of Schedule 8 to the Hazardous Substances (Dangerous Goods and Scheduled Toxic Substances) Transfer Notice 2004, above ground stationary tanks for hazardous liquids must be designed and constructed in accordance with one of the Standards listed in paragraphs 8 (2) (a)–(g) of that Schedule or a code of practice approved by the Authority under section 79 of the Act.

**Exemption From Specified Requirement of Land Transport Rule: Frontal Impact 2001***
Pursuant to section 166 (1) of the Land Transport Act 1998 ("the Act") and being satisfied on the matters in section 166 (2) of the Act, and under delegated authority, I, Donald Norman Hutchinson, Acting Manager Vehicles, Land Transport New Zealand, exempt each vehicle identified in Schedule 1 from the requirement to comply with a version of one of the approved vehicle standards specified in 2.3 (2) of Land Transport Rule: Frontal Impact 2001.

Vehicle Details
The vehicle is a Toyota Cavalier of model code TJG00 and of model year 1997 or 1998, this being identified by the fact that the 10th character of the manufacturer’s Vehicle Identification Number is respectively V (for 1997) or W (for 1998).
