Biosecurity Act 1993
Permission to Export Possums and Wallabies
(Notice No. 1423)
Possum (family Phalangeridae) and wallaby (family Macropodidae) are unwanted organisms under the Biosecurity Act 1993 ("the Act").
Section 52 of the Act makes it an offence to knowingly spread unwanted organisms, and section 53 imposes a duty on owners of unwanted organisms not to sell or offer those organisms for sale.
Under sections 52 (d) and 53 (2) of the Act, a chief technical officer may permit persons to carry out acts prohibited by sections 52 and 53.
I give notice that, by the authority granted to me under sections 52 and 53 of the Act, I permit the export of possums (family Phalangeridae) and wallabies (family Macropodidae) from New Zealand.

Marine Mammals Protection Act 1978
Application to Export Marine Mammals
Pursuant to section 5 of the Marine Mammals Protection Act 1978, the Director-General of Conservation notifies that an application was received from Karen A. Stockin on 17 March 2005 to:
- Export five skin samples of striped dolphins and 40 skin samples of common dolphins to University College Cork, Ireland, for the purpose of genetic research.
Further details of the application can be obtained from Helen McConnell, Marine Conservation Officer, Marine Conservation Unit, Department of Conservation, P.O. Box 10-420, Wellington. Telephone: (04) 471 3062.
Any person wishing to make a submission on this application can do so by writing to the Manager, Marine Conservation Unit, within 28 days after publication of this notice.
Unless a person making a submission states to the contrary in the submission, that person will be deemed to give his/her consent to the release, under the Official Information Act 1982, of all the information in the submission.

Education (Early Childhood Centres) Regulations 1998
Cancellation of Licence for an Early Childhood Centre
Pursuant to Regulation 10 (3) of the Education (Early Childhood Centres) Regulations 1998, and acting under authority delegated by the Secretary for Education, I hereby cancel the licence dated 8 October 2002, which was granted under those Regulations to Lorraine Kyle in respect of Raetihi and Districts Preschool (50050), situated at Duncan Street, Raetihi.
This notice shall take effect the day after the date of its notification in the New Zealand Gazette.
