Agricultural Compounds and Veterinary Medicines Act 1997
Notice of Application to Register a Trade Name Product (Notice No. 1421)
Pursuant to section 14 (1) of the Agricultural Compounds and Veterinary Medicines Act 1997, the Director-General of the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry hereby gives notice that the following application has been made to register a trade name product under section 9 (1) of the Agricultural Compounds and Veterinary Medicines Act 1997:
Trade Name: CampyVax4
Reference: A009535
Active Ingredients and Concentrations:
Dead formalin-killed Campylobacter fetus fetus bacteria (3 strains) 1.5 x 10^8 cells from each of 4 strains/1mL dose
Dead formalin-killed Campylobacter jejuni (1 strain) 1.5 x 10^8 cells from each of 4 strains/1mL dose
General Use Claims:
Prevents abortions and perinatal lamb deaths due to infection with Campylobacter fetus fetus.
Induces a Campylobacter jejuni specific immune response.
Any person may make a written submission to the Director-General, under section 17 of the Agricultural Compounds and Veterinary Medicines Act 1997, concerning any application notified above.
Such submissions:
(a) must state in full the reasons for making the submission;
(b) may state any decision sought on that application;
(c) must be received by the Director-General no later than 30 working days after the date of notification in the New Zealand Gazette; and
(d) should be forwarded to the address given below.
A copy of every submission will be forwarded to the applicant for its information.

(a) where submissions and requests for copies of the public information relating to the application can be sent;
(b) where the public information relating to the application can be viewed; and
(c) the Director-General’s address for service:

Animal Products (Ancillary and Transitional Provisions) Act 1999
Approval for the Use of a Drug or Substance for the Prevention or Treatment of Disease in Bees (Notice No. 1422)
Section 62 (1) of the Animal Products (Ancillary and Transitional Provisions) Act 1999 provides that:
“No person may use any drug, substance, or mixture of substances for the prevention or treatment of any disease in bees, other than a drug for the time being approved for that purpose pursuant to subsection (2).”
Section 62 (2) of the Animal Products (Ancillary and Transitional Provisions) Act 1999 provides that:
“The Minister may from time to time, by notice in the New Zealand Gazette, approve the use, subject to such conditions as the Minister specifies, of any specified drug for the prevention or treatment of any specified disease.”
Pursuant to section 62 of the Animal Products (Ancillary and Transitional Provisions) Act 1999, I approve the use of the drug
Api Life Var
for the prevention or treatment of varroa (Varroa destructor).
