Notification of Determination of the Precise Question at an Indicative Referendum

Pursuant to section 13 of the Citizens Initiated Referenda Act 1993, I hereby give notice that John van Buren:

– has been approved to use, for the purposes of an indicative referendum petition, the wording determined in the paragraph below;

– is the promoter of an indicative referendum petition in which the wording determined in the paragraph below is to be used;

– has been approved to use a form for the purposes of the indicative referendum petition; and

that the wording of the specific question to be put to voters in the proposed indicative referendum is:

“Should the proprietor of licensed premises be able to determine whether those premises are smoke-free?”

Food Act 1981

Amendment to Food Standard (Notice No. 1416)

Pursuant to section 11G of the Food Act 1981, notice is given that the New Zealand (Prescribed Foods) Food Standards 2002, Amendment No. 2 was issued by the Minister for Food Safety on 4 April 2005 and comes into force 28 days following publication of this notice in the New Zealand Gazette.

This food standard can be viewed on the New Zealand Food Safety Authority web site:

or can be inspected free of charge at the New Zealand Food Safety Authority, 86 Jervois Quay, Wellington, or purchased from Bennetts or Whitcoulls.

Dumping and Countervailing Duties Act 1988

Final Determination of Dumping Investigation: Oral Liquid Paracetamol From the Republic of Ireland

Pursuant to section 13 of the Dumping and Countervailing Duties Act 1988 (“the Act”), I hereby give notice that I have made a final determination that, in relation to the importation or intended importation of the goods specified in the Schedule to this notice (the “subject goods”):

(a) the subject goods are being dumped; and

(b) by reason thereof, material injury to the New Zealand industry is threatened.

Description of Goods
Oral liquid paracetamol in various strengths and pack sizes, excluding: elixirs and paracetamol in other forms.

The goods are currently classified under Tariff Item 3003.90.09 and Statistical Key 10K and 3004.90.19 and Statistical Key 19G.

Note: A decision on the imposition of anti-dumping duties will be made when the outcome is known of the Pharmaceutical Management Agency of New Zealand’s current tender for oral liquid paracetamol, or any other change occurs that affects supply in the dispensary market.
