New Zealand Sport Drug Agency
(Drugfree Sport New Zealand)

Pursuant to section 44A of the Public Finance Act 1989,
I hereby give notice that the New Zealand Sport Drug
Agency (Drugfree Sport New Zealand) has published its
annual report for the year ending 30 June 2005, containing
its financial statements, audit report and statement of
objectives and service performance for the period.

Education Act 1989

Merger of Maraekakaho School (2603) and
Raukawa School (2660)

Pursuant to section 156A of the Education Act 1989,
I hereby declare that Maraekakaho School and Raukawa
School will merge on 26 April 2006.
Maraekakaho School will be the continuing school.

Amendment of Notice of Direction for Appointment
of a Limited Statutory Manager for the Board of
Trustees of Te Kura o Matahi (1809)

Pursuant to section 78M of the Education Act 1989, I hereby
amend the notice published in the New Zealand Gazette,
21 October 2004, No. 134, page 3304, regarding the

amendment of the notice of direction for appointment of a
limited statutory manager for Te Kura o Matahi Board of
Trustees because of risks to the operation of the school and
the educational performance of its students.
The following functions, powers and duties of the board are
to be vested in a limited statutory manager:
● Ensuring areas for improvement identified in the July
2005 Education Review Office report are implemented;
● all functions, powers and duties of the board as an
employer (whether statutory or not);
● all functions, powers and duties of the board to manage
financial operations (whether statutory or otherwise);
● all functions, powers and duties of the board to manage
curriculum and assessment practice (whether statutory or
otherwise); and
● board organisation and management.
A limited statutory manager must also advise the board on
the following:
● Strategic planning and school wide self-review.
This notice takes effect the day after the date of publication.

Notice of Dissolution of the Boards of Trustees of
Parikino School (2423) and Ranana School (2430)
and Direction to Appoint a Commissioner; and
Revocation of Notices of Direction for Appointment
of a Limited Statutory Manager for the Boards of
Trustees of Parikino School (2423) and Ranana
School (2430)

Pursuant to section 78N (1) of the Education Act 1989,
I hereby dissolve the boards of trustees of Parikino School
and Ranana School and direct the Secretary for Education
to appoint a commissioner to replace those boards.
As a consequence of this action, the notices of direction
for appointment of a limited statutory manager for the
boards of trustees of Parikino School and Ranana School
(as published in the New Zealand Gazette, 7 October 2004,
No. 130, pages 3186 and 3187 respectively) are hereby
revoked under section 78M (7) of the Education Act 1989.

Dallas Murdoch
as commissioner for Parikino School and Ranana School.

of Parikino School and Ranana School are vested in the
commissioner.
This notice takes effect the day after the date of publication.
