Act 1988, hereby give notice of my intention to apply to the Minister of Labour for approval of amendments to the Approved
Code of Practice for Cranes in New Zealand, under the Health and Safety in Employment Act 1992.
The amendments provide for editorial alterations and a new Part for
Self-erecting Tower Cranes
which were not previously covered.

Notice of Amendment to Requirements of Holders of Certificates of Competence Under the Health and Safety in Employment (Mining Administration) Regulations 1996
Pursuant to Regulation 20 of the Health and Safety in Employment (Mining Administration) Regulations 1996, I, James Buwalda,
Secretary of Labour, hereby give notice of amendment to the qualifications and experience required to hold a certificate of
competence listed in Regulation 16 of the Health and Safety in Employment (Mining Administration) Regulations 1996.

Commencement—This notice has effect from 1 August 2005.

Amendment to principal notice—This notice amends the notice published in the New Zealand Gazette, 27 January 2005,
No. 30, page 723 (“the principal notice”) and must be read together with that notice. -
New unit standards substituted—
(1) Group 4 of the Appendix to the principal notice is amended by deleting the following unit standard:

(2) Group 4 of the Appendix to the principal notice is further amended by adding the following unit standards:

| 21661 | Demonstrate knowledge of the use of electrical reticulation plant and equipment in underground mines |

Under Regulation 24 (5) of the Health and Safety in Employment (Petroleum Exploration and Extraction) Regulations 1999

Local Electoral Act 2001
Guidelines in Relation to Reviews of Local Authority Representation
On 29 June 2005, the Local Government Commission issued the 2nd edition of the Guidelines to Assist Local Authorities in Undertaking Representation Reviews.
The guidelines have been issued under section 19ZI of the Local Electoral Act 2001.
They identify factors and considerations for local authorities to take into account in making determinations under any of the provisions of sections 19H to 19J and Schedule 1A of the Local Electoral Act 2001.
The guidelines are available, free of charge, from the Local Government Commission, P.O. Box 5362, Wellington, or may be downloaded from the Commission’s web site at www.lgc.govt.nz
