Agricultural Compounds and Veterinary Medicines Act 1997

Notice of Application to Register a Trade Name Product (Notice No. 1345)

Pursuant to section 14 (1) of the Agricultural Compounds and Veterinary Medicines Act 1997, the Director-General of the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry hereby gives notice that the following application has been made to register a trade name product under section 9 (1) of the Agricultural Compounds and Veterinary Medicines (ACVM) Act 1997:

Trade Name: Equilis IPA Influenza
Reference: A09394
Active Ingredient:
Purified haemaglutinin/neuraminidase from influenza viruses.
General Use Claim:
Active immunisation of horses and foals against equine influenza to reduce severity and duration of clinical signs and to reduce the amount and duration of virus excretion after infection.

Any person may make a written submission to the Director-General, under section 17 of the ACVM Act 1997, concerning any application notified above.
Such submissions:
(a) must state in full the reasons for making the submission;
(b) may state any decision sought on that application;
(c) must be received by the Director-General no later than 30 working days after the date of notification in the New Zealand Gazette; and
(d) should be forwarded to the address given below.

A copy of every submission will be forwarded to the applicant for their information.

A copy of the public information on the application may be obtained from ACVM Group, New Zealand Food Safety Authority, P.O. Box 2835, Wellington.

Pursuant to section 164 of the Animal Products Act 1999, notice is hereby given of the issue on 19 July 2004 of the Animal Products (Electronic Certification System Costs Specifications) Notice 2003, Amendment No. 2, which comes into force on 20 July 2004, and the issue on 16 July 2004 of the Animal Products (Accredited Evaluator Specifications) Amendment Notice 2004, which comes into force on 22 July 2004.\n

Amendment to Food Standard (Notice No. 1346)

Pursuant to section 11G of the Food Act 1981, notice is given that the New Zealand (Australia New Zealand Food Standards Code) Food Standards 2002, Amendment No. 8 was issued by the Minister for Food Safety on 14 July 2004 and comes into force 28 days following publication of this notice in the New Zealand Gazette.

Penal Institutions Act 1954

Operational Standard 13—Inmate Security Classification System—Notice of Revocation and Reissue

Notice is given that the Penal Institutions (Inmate Security Classification System) Operational Standard 2002 (OS – 13) issued on 20 March 2002 in relation to inmate security classification in penal institutions is revoked as from 9 July 2004.

Pursuant to section 10B of the Penal Institutions Act 1954, notice is given that the Penal Institutions (Inmate Security Classification System) Operational Standard 2004 (OS – 13) has been reissued in relation to inmate security classification in penal institutions, and takes effect from 9 July 2004.

Copies of this Operational Standard are available:

  • at all prisons, for inspection by inmates; and
  • for inspection by members of the public at any public library that is a party to the Depository Library Scheme.

Copies of this Operational Standard can be obtained:

  • at all Service Centres of the Community Probation Service; or
  • through the Information Centre of the Department of Corrections:
