Paragraph 7 of Schedule 3 is revoked and replaced with the following:
“7. The data in 3 (a), 3 (b), 4 (a), 4 (b), 5 (a) and 5 (b), must be displayed in accordance with the requirements of the Land Transport Rule: Heavy Vehicles (Rule 31002) when the rule comes into force.”

Land Transport Act 1998
Notice of Proposed Land Transport Rule: Heavy–vehicle Brakes
In accordance with section 161 (2) of the Land Transport Act 1998, the Land Transport Safety Authority (LTSA), on behalf of the Minister of Transport, gives notice of his intention to make a rule concerning heavy-vehicle brakes, and advises that draft Land Transport Rule: Heavy-vehicle Brakes (Rule 32015) is now available for public comment.
This draft legislation proposes requirements that will contribute towards the safe operation of heavy vehicles on New Zealand’s roads.
A copy of the draft rule may be obtained by calling the LTSA Help Desk on Freephone 0800 699 000 or by visiting the LTSA web site at
www.ltsa.govt.nz/consultation/
The draft rule is also available for viewing at the LTSA’s seven regional offices.
A copy of the draft rule has been made available to groups and individuals who have expressed an interest in the rule.
Submissions on draft Land Transport Rule: Heavy-vehicle Brakes close on 3 September 2004.

Submarine Cables and Pipelines Protection Act 1996
Declaration Under the Submarine Cables and Pipelines Protection Act 1996
Whereas, pursuant to section 441 of the Maritime Transport Act 1994, the Minister of Transport did delegate those powers under section 12 (6) of the Submarine Cables and Pipelines Protection Act 1996 to the Maritime Safety Authority by an instrument of delegation dated 19 March 1997.
And whereas, pursuant to section 442 of the Maritime Transport Act 1994, the Maritime Safety Authority did delegate those powers under section 12 (6) of the Submarine Cables and Pipelines Protection Act 1996 to the Director of Maritime Safety by an instrument of delegation dated 26 March 1997.
Therefore I, Bernard Antony Martin, Acting Director of Maritime Safety, hereby make the following declaration.
Declaration
The Order in Council, under section 12 of the Submarine Cables and Pipelines Protection Act 1996, entitled the Submarine Cables and Pipelines Protection Order 1992 shall not apply in respect of the following ship:
Pacific Hideaway
and the remote operated vehicles and sonar systems associated with that ship whilst working in the protected area designated “Area 2 – Hauraki Gulf” for a survey of the wreck RMS Niagara from 27 June 2004 to 30 June 2004 subject to the conditional written approval of Telecom New Zealand Limited.
This notice comes into effect on and from the time of publication of this notice on 24 June 2004.
