commencing east of the north-western intersection with
Coach Road and proceeding generally in a south-easterly
direction to the south-eastern intersection with Coach Road
(Route Position 550/11.86 to Route Position 550/17.00); a
distance of approximately 5.24 kilometres.

Second Schedule
The newly constructed Mangaiti Deviation section of State
Highway No. 1, commencing east of the north-western
intersection with Coach Road and proceeding generally in a
south-easterly direction to the south-eastern intersection
with Coach Road (Route Position 550/11.86 to Route
Position 550/17.00); a distance of approximately 4.85
kilometres.

Declaring State Highway to be Limited Access Road: Napier Region
It is notified that Transit New Zealand, by resolution dated
10 March 2004 and pursuant to section 88 (1) of the Transit
New Zealand Act 1989, hereby declares those parts of State
highway described in the Schedule hereto, and as more
particularly shown on Plans LA3/14/37 and LA30/95/1 and
accompanying Schedules held in the office of the Regional
Manager, Transit New Zealand, Napier, and there available
for public inspection, to be limited access road.

Schedule

(a) In Gisborne District, that section of State Highway
No. 2 commencing at the Waipaoa Roundabout and
proceeding in a generally southerly direction to the northern
abutment of the Muriwai Railway Overbridge (Route
Position 443/2.96 to Route Position 461/0.00); a distance of
15.04 kilometres.

(b) In Hastings District, that section of State Highway
No. 50 commencing at the northern abutment of the Ben
Lomond Bridge and proceeding in a generally south-westerly
direction to the northern abutment of Manga-o-nuku Bridge
No. 1 (Route Position 33/5.82 to Route Position 49/0.00); a
distance of 10.18 kilometres.

Transit New Zealand Act 1989
Transport Act 1962

Amendment to Transit New Zealand Bylaw
2002/16: Bylaw Regulating the Speed of Vehicles in
Part Time School Speed Zones

Pursuant to section 61 (3) of the Transit New Zealand Act
1989 and section 72 (1) (j) of the Transport Act 1962,
Transit New Zealand hereby amends the above bylaw as
follows.

Amendment

  1. This amendment shall come into force 28 days after its
    publication in the New Zealand Gazette.

  2. In the Second Schedule after clause 5 insert:

as Clause 6
That section of State Highway No. 6 commencing on
Main South Road in Karoro at Greymouth from a
point 20 metres generally north of Rata Street and
proceeding in a generally southerly direction to a
point 30 metres generally north of Stanton Crescent
(Route Position 430/4.02 to Route Position 430/4.33);
a distance of 310 metres; and

as Clause 7
That section of State Highway No. 1 commencing on
Craigie Avenue in south Timaru from a point 140
metres generally north of Queen Street then proceeding
to a point 160 metres generally south of Queen Street
(Route Position 506/1.54 to Route Position 506/1.84);
a distance of 300 metres.

This amendment is made by delegated authority from the
Transit New Zealand Board.

Declaring Land to be Held for Conservation Purposes

Under the Conservation Act 1987, the Community Relations
Manager for the Southland Conservancy of the Department
of Conservation declares that the land described in the
Schedule is held for conservation purposes.

0.0817 hectares, being Lots 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6, D.P. 1644.
All land contained in transfer T. 274990.

Authorisation of Exchange of Stewardship Area for Other Land

Under the Conservation Act 1987, the Conservator of the
Nelson/Marlborough Conservancy of the Department of
Conservation authorises the exchange of the stewardship
area described in the First Schedule for the land in the
Second Schedule, and further specifies that the land in
the latter Schedule be held for the purpose of a conservation
park.
