These airworthiness directives shall come into force on 25 March 2004.

Further, in accordance with section 72I (3C) (c), notice is given of the following airworthiness directive:
DCA/R22/42 came into force on 22 March 2004.

Airworthiness directives may be reviewed on the CAA web site (www.caa.govt.nz) or at Aviation House, 10 Hutt Road, Petone.

Electricity Industry Reform Act 1998

Notice of Exemption—Dr Keith Turner

The notice of exemption concerns an application received by the Commerce Commission (“the Commission”) on 10 February 2004, made by Auckland International Airport Limited (“AIAL”) and varied by consent on 26 February 2004, such that Dr Keith Turner is the applicant.

Dr Keith Turner seeks in the application, under section 81 of the Electricity Industry Reform Act 1998 (“EIR Act”), an exemption from section 17 of the EIR Act in respect of his proposed directorship of AIAL.

The Commission, pursuant to section 81 of the EIR Act, exempts Dr Keith Turner from the application of section 17 of the EIR Act in respect of his proposed cross-involvement in an electricity lines and an electricity supply business.

The exemption is subject to the following terms and conditions:

(a) That Meridian Energy Limited shall not enter into any kind of contract or arrangement with Auckland International Airport Limited that relates to the use of Auckland International Airport Limited’s electricity distribution network whilst Dr Keith Turner is involved with Meridian Energy Limited and a director of Auckland International Airport Limited; and

(b) That Dr Keith Turner informs the Commission if he becomes a director of any company other than those described in his application for exemption.

The exemption takes effect from the date of publication of this notice in the New Zealand Gazette.

The Commission may vary or revoke this exemption at any time in accordance with section 81 (5) of the EIR Act.

Transit New Zealand

Transit New Zealand Act 1989

Revoking State Highway Section to be Limited Access Road: State Highway No. 29, Hamilton Region

It is notified that Transit New Zealand, by resolution dated 10 March 2004 and pursuant to section 88 of the Transit New Zealand Act 1989, hereby gives notice that the limited access road status of the section of State highway described in the Schedule hereto is revoked within the meaning and for the purpose of the Transit New Zealand Act 1989.

Schedule

That section of State Highway No. 29 in Tauranga District, commencing at Te Maunga Junction and proceeding generally in a south-westerly direction to the intersection of Pyes Pa Road (Route Position 6/0.00 to Route Position 13/4.95); a distance of 12.21 kilometres.

Revoking Sections of State Highway and Declaring New Sections of State Highway: State Highway No. 1, South Waikato District

Pursuant to section 60 of the Transit New Zealand Act 1989, the Transit New Zealand Board gives notice that the section of State Highway No. 1 described in the First Schedule hereto is revoked, and the section of road described in the Second Schedule hereto is declared to be State Highway No. 1 within the meaning and for the purpose of the Transit New Zealand Act 1989.
