Approval of Brake Testing Device in Accordance With the Requirements in the Traffic Regulations 1976

Pursuant to Regulation 88 of the Traffic Regulations 1976, and pursuant to delegated authority, I, Brent Ronald Blann, Technical Support Manager, Vehicle Certification Unit, approve the brake testing device specified in the Schedule to this notice for the purpose of testing brakes according to the requirements of Regulation 68 of the Traffic Regulations 1976.

Transport Act 1962

The Traffic (Wellington City) Notice 2004

Pursuant to section 52 of the Transport Act 1962, and Regulation 21 (2) of the Traffic Regulations 1976, and to an authority sub-delegated to me by the Land Transport Safety Authority of New Zealand dated 9 June 1997, I, Peter Graeme Croft, Manager, Safer Roads, give the following notice.

Notice

1. This notice may be cited as the Traffic (Wellington City) Notice, 2004.

2. Those localities and roads appearing on plans numbered LT0449/1 (1 of 2) and LT0449/1 (2 of 2) entitled “Wellington City Roading Speed Restrictions” and held by the Land Transport Safety Authority, are declared to be:

(a) closely populated localities at all times for the purposes of section 52 (1) of the Transport Act 1962; or

(b) excluded from the limitation as to speed imposed by section 52 (1) of the Transport Act 1962, pursuant to section 52 (2) of that Act, and declared to be 70 kilometres an hour speed-limit areas for the purpose of Regulation 21 of the Traffic Regulations 1976; or

(c) excluded from the limitation as to speed imposed by section 52 (1) of the Transport Act 1962, pursuant to section 52 (2) of that Act, and declared to be a limited speed zone for the purpose of Regulation 21 (2) of the Traffic Regulations 1976; or

(d) excluded from the limitation as to speed imposed by section 52 (1) of the Transport Act 1962, pursuant to section 52 (2) of that Act,

as may be ascertained from the Legend on said plans.

The said plans are hereby incorporated in this notice.

3. The following four notices are hereby revoked:

(a) The Traffic (Wellington City) Notice No. 1, 1977*

(b) The Traffic (Wellington City) Notice No. 1, 1980**

(c) The Traffic (Tawa Borough) Notice No. 1, 1981***

(d) The Traffic (Wellington City) Notice, 1999†
