Appointment of Acting Judge of High Court
Pursuant to section 11A of the Judicature Act 1908, Her Excellency the Governor-General, in the name and on behalf of Her Majesty the Queen, has been pleased to appoint
The Honourable John Anthony Doogue
an Acting Judge of the High Court for a term of one year, the commission to take effect on 1 February 2004, a certificate having been signed by the Chief Justice and three other permanent Judges of the High Court that in their opinion it is necessary for the due conduct of the business of the Court that an Acting Judge be appointed.

The following functions, powers and duties of the board are vested in the limited statutory manager:
● Management of the finances of the kura;
● ensuring that financial decisions made help maintain quality curriculum delivery;
● ensuring that the board repays the Ministry of Education loan within the agreed period; and
● providing mentoring support to the new principal in matters of strategic financial and property planning.
The limited statutory manager may advise the board on:
● engaging a suitable person or organisation to assist with detailed financial matters as required.
The limited statutory manager must also advise the board on the following:
● Financial management of building projects and property development generally;
● how to ensure high quality financial planning and decision making;
● training of the board and staff in financial processes; and
● development and review of financial policies and procedures, especially as they relate to long-term property development plans.
This notice takes effect the day after the date of publication of this notice.

Pursuant to section 78M of the Education Act 1989, I direct the Secretary for Education to appoint a limited statutory manager for the Board of Trustees of Te Rangi Aniwaniwa (1147) because the operation of the kura is at risk.

Pursuant to section 78M of the Education Act 1989, I direct the Secretary for Education to appoint a limited statutory manager for the Board of Trustees of Taipuha School (1103) to assist the board to prepare for closure.
