Notice of Application to Vary Terms of a Charitable Trust

Take notice that on the 5th day of March 2004 at 10.00 a.m., the University of Otago will move the High Court at Dunedin for an order approving a variation to the terms of the Dunbar Research Scholarship Trust.

The application is being made on the grounds that it is impractical or inexpedient to carry out the purpose of the trust without such variation.
The proposed scheme will ensure that suitable persons for the award of the scholarship can be found, by broadening the eligibility criteria to allow awards to candidates who are graduates of the University of Otago engaged for the time being in research at the Dunedin School of Medicine of the University of Otago in relation to urinary disorders, womb disorders or catarrhal disorders, or such other field of research as may be approved by the university.
Any person desiring to oppose the scheme shall give written notice of his or her intention to do so to the Registrar of the High Court, Private Bag 1925, Dunedin, and to the Trustees of the Dunbar Research Scholarship Trust, care of Gallaway Cook Allan, P.O. Box 143, Dunedin, and to the Attorney-General, Crown Law Office, P.O. Box 5012, Wellington, not less than seven clear days before the 5th day of March 2004.
