Occupational Health and Safety Training:

Approved Course

Under section 19G (3) of the Health and Safety in
Employment Act 1992, the Minister of Labour has delegated
the power to approve courses of occupational health and
safety training to the Employment Relations Education
(ERE) Advisory Committee.

The ERE Advisory Committee has approved the following
course under section 19G (1) of the Health and Safety in
Employment Act 1992:

Revocation of Childcare Assistance

Welfare Programme

Pursuant to section 124 (1) (d) of the Social Security Act
1964, the Minister for Social Development and Employment,
by this instrument, which takes effect with the close of
3 October 2004, revokes the Childcare Assistance Welfare
Programme (as established and approved on 19 December
1998).

Broadcasting Standards Authority

Broadcasting Act 1989

Notification of Amended Broadcasting Codes of Practice

Pursuant to section 22 (1) of the Broadcasting Act 1989, the
following notice is given.

Four broadcasting codes have been amended to incorporate
new provisions concerning restrictions on the promotion of
liquor, in accordance with section 21 (1) (e) (v) of the Act.
The amended codes are the:

  • Free To Air Code of Broadcasting Practice (new Standard 11);
  • Radio Code of Broadcasting Practice (new Principle 8);
  • Pay Television Code of Broadcasting Practice (new S34); and
  • Advanced Codes of Broadcasting Practice (new A18).

The new provisions take effect from 1 December 2004.

From 1 December 2004, the Promotion of Liquor Code
1995 is abolished, being replaced by the provisions in the
revised codes above.

Copies of the revised codes are available free from
the Broadcasting Standards Authority, P.O. Box 9213,
Wellington, or can be downloaded from www.bsa.govt.nz
