to Boundary Peak. Then north-east along the high
points to the junction of Little Deepdale Creek and the
Buller River. Then upstream of the Buller River to
the junction of the Buller and Hope Rivers at Kawatiri
Junction. Then north-east to the Hope Saddle. Then
north-east and north along the high points of the
Pinchback Range to the beaconed trig on Kohatu (643m),
then north-east to the Motueka River. Then downstream
of the Motueka River to the Tapawera-Glenhope bridge,
then east along the centre of the Tapawera-Glenhope
Road to the intersection with State Highway No. 61 at
Tapawera. Then north to the bridge over the Stanley
Brook on the Upper Stanley Brook Road, then north-east
to the Cowin Bridge over the Dove River at Thorpe on
the Thorpe-Dovedale Road, then north-east to the
Rosedale Saddle on Rosedale Road. Then north to
the intersection of Central and Holdaway Roads, then
east along the centre of Holdaway Road to the footbridge
over the Moutere River. Then downstream of the
Moutere River to the coast and then along the coast to
the mouth of the Motueka River.
Marlborough/North Canterbury
All land encompassed by the following peripheral line:
From the White Bluffs on the coast at Cloudy Bay west
to Redwood Pass, then south-west to Dashwood Pass,
then west to Taylor Pass, The Ned and Wards Peak,
then south-west to The Throne, then west to the junction
of the Tummil and Avon Rivers, then west to the
junction of Musgrave Brook and Waihopai River, then
north-west to Mt Olympus, then north to Andersons
Floodway and the right bank of the Wairau River. Then
downstream along the true right of the Wairau River to
a point directly opposite the junction with Bartletts
Creek, then upstream of Bartletts Creek to the junction
with Quartz Creek, then north-west to Mt Royal and
west along the high points to Mt Fell, Mt Richmond,
Old Man, Mt Rintoul, Purple Top, Bishops Cap, then
south along the high points to Bushy Top,
then south-west along the high points to Red Hill, then
south along the high points to Chrome, then south-west
to Beebys Knob. Then south along the high points to the
St Arnaud Range, Mt McRae, Peanter Peak, The Camel,
Coterrell Peak, to Rainbow Pass, then south to Mt McKay,
Belvedere Peak, Waiau Pass, to Mt Mahanga in the
Spenser Mountains. Then south along the high points to
Mt Una, then south-east to the junction of Glacier Gully
and the Waiau River. Then down the Waiau River to its
junction with the Henry River, then up the Henry River
to the Opera Range then south down the Opera Range to
the Organ Range east of Glynn Wye, then south to the
Hurunui River east of Esk Head, then south-west to
the Puketeraki Range, to Fosters Hill south along the
ridge to the Waimakariri River, thence down the true left
bank of the Waimakariri River to Woodstock Road, east
to Depot Road, then north along Ashley Gorge Road to
the Ashley River, then east to the Ashley River road
bridge at Ashley, then south to Rangiora, then south-east
along Lineside Road to State Highway No. 1, then south
to the Waimakariri River, then east along the true left
bank of the Waimakariri River to the coast. Then up the
coastline to the White Bluffs.
Hakataramea Valley
All land encompassed by the following peripheral line:
Start at grid reference (NZMS 260-I40:170989) true left
bank Waitaki River opposite end of Little Roderick
Road. Follow Little Roderick road north-east to its
end then north-east to Peak 864m at grid reference
(NZMS 260-I40:194057), then south-east to peak 1021m
Mt Orr at grid reference (NZMS 260-I40:221042), then
north-east to peak 860m at grid reference (NZMS
260-I40:235051) and along the ridge of the Campbell
Hills to Peak 885m at grid reference (NZMS
260-J40:306137), then north-east to South Branch
Waihao River. Follow the South Branch upstream along
the true right bank to peak 1063m Mt Aitken at grid
reference (NZMS 260-J39:326223). Then north and
north-east to the North Branch Waihao River. Follow the
North Branch upstream along the true right bank to peak
722m at grid reference (NZMS 260-J39:306327), then
north-east along the ridge to peak 1442m at grid
reference (NZMS 260-J39:324381). Then north-west
along the ridge of the Hunter Hills to peak 1597m
Mt Nessing at grid reference (NZMS 260-I39:271486).
Then downstream along the true left bank of the
Massack Stream to the confluence with the Hakataramea
River. Then downstream along the true left bank of the
Hakataramea River to the confluence with the Dalgety
Stream. Then follow the Dalgety Stream upstream along
the true right bank to the Hakataramea Pass 947m at grid
reference (NZMS 260-I38:163520). Then south-west to
peak 1921m Black Rocks at grid reference (NZMS
260-I38:128506). Then south along the main ridge of the
Grampian Mountains and the Kirkliston Range to peak
1755m at grid reference (NZMS 260-I39:140339). Then
west along the ridge to peak 1910m Mt Sutton at grid
reference (NZMS 260-I39:037321), continuing west to
peak 1581m at grid reference (NZMS 260-I39:971334),
down across the Black Forest Stream and then up to peak
1132m at grid reference (NZMS 260-I39:908330). Then
west to Lake Benmore. Then south along the eastern
shore of Lake Benmore to the Waitaki River, down the
true left bank of the Waitaki to Lake Aviemore. Then
west along the northern shore of Lake Aviemore and the
true left bank of the Waitaki River at grid reference
(NZMS 260-I40:170989) opposite Little Roderick Road.
Coastal and Central Otago
All land encompassed by the following peripheral line:
From the Kurow River/Waitaki River Junction, up
Kurow River to Grayson Peak at grid reference (NZMS
260-I41:004876) then a direct line south-east to Danseys
Pass at grid reference (NZMS 260-I41:026805), then
direct line south-east to Kakanui Peak at grid reference
(NZMS 260-I41:085606), then direct line south-east
to Beaconed Trig B at grid reference (NZMS
260-I42:116554), then to Mt Stalker at grid reference
(NZMS 260-I42:175528), then east to Beaconed Trig Y
at grid reference (NZMS 260-I42:274508), then east to
the junction of Glencoe Road and Kennedy Road (near
Herbert), then along Glencoe Road to State Highway
No. 1 at Herbert, then south along State Highway No. 1
to where State Highway No. 1 crosses the Waianakarua
River (near the junction between Waianakarua Road and
State Highway No. 1), then along the true left bank of
the North Branch of the Waianakarua River, then along
the left bank of the Waianakarua River to the coast, then
down the east coast to where State Highway No. 1
meets the coast near Shag Point, then follow State
