Misuse of Drugs Act 1975

Revocation of Authorisation of Medical Practitioner to Prescribe, Administer or Supply Controlled Drugs for the Purpose of Treating People With Drug Dependence

Pursuant to section 24 (8) of the Misuse of Drugs Act 1975, I, David George Chaplow, acting under delegated authority from the Minister of Health, revoke the notice signed by the Director of Mental Health on the 9th day of October 2000 and published in the New Zealand Gazette, 19 October 2000, page 3738, thereby revoking the authority of

Dr John Panton Musgrove

to prescribe, administer or supply controlled drugs for the purposes of that section.

Explanatory Note

Dr John Panton Musgrove was specified, under section 24 (7) (a) (previously 24 (5) (a)) of the Misuse of Drugs Act 1975, as a medical practitioner who may prescribe, administer or supply controlled drugs for the purpose of treating people with drug dependence. Dr John Panton Musgrove has retired from general practice and no longer requires specification under section 24 (7) (a).

Amendment to Prior Notice Specifying a Medical Practitioner Who May Prescribe, Administer or Supply Controlled Drugs for the Purpose of Treating People With Drug Dependence

Pursuant to sections 24 (7) (a) and 24 (8) of the Misuse of Drugs Act 1975, I, David George Chaplow, acting under delegated authority from the Minister of Health, amend the notice signed by me on 22 December 2003 and published in the New Zealand Gazette, 8 January 2004, page 40, by deleting the words

"section 24 (5) (a)"

and replacing them with the words

"section 24 (7) (a)"

thereby validating the authority for Dr William Lloyd Sheldon to prescribe, administer or supply controlled drugs for the purposes of that section.
