In the case of certificate cancellation, a fee is paid for the original issuing of the certificate and again for cancellation of the certificate and crediting of the exporter quota balance.
The amended wording and the quota application and participation fees set out above come into effect for the Quota Year commencing 1 January 2005 for European Union Sheepmeat and Goatmeat Tariff Rate Quota and United States Beef and Veal Tariff Rate Quota.
The amended wording and fees come into effect for the Quota Year commencing 1 July 2005 for European Union High Quality Beef Tariff Rate Quota.
The certificate and transfer fees set out above come into effect as of 1 September 2004 for European Union Sheepmeat and Goatmeat Tariff Rate Quota, European Union High Quality Beef Tariff Rate Quota and United States Beef and Veal Tariff Rate Quota.

For European Union Sheepmeat and Goatmeat Tariff Rate Quota and United States Beef and Veal Tariff Rate Quota:
Applications by New Entrants for Reserved Quota Allowance Allocations, together with fees payable, are due by 1 September 2004.
Applications and fees from General Quota Holders are due by 15 October 2004.
In relation to the European Union Sheepmeat and Goatmeat and High Quality Beef Tariff Rate Quotas, the tariff rate applying to “in quota” imports is zero.
The United States Beef and Veal Tariff Rate Quota has a tariff rate applying to “in quota” imports of $US0.044 per kilogram on most beef products.
The manuals are currently being updated on the web site http://www.nzmeatboard.org/wdbctx/corporate/exporting.home and hard copies are available from the board.

European Union Sheepmeat and Goatmeat (226,700 tonnes), and United States Beef and Veal (213,402 tonnes) Reserved Quota Allowance Applications for the 2005 Quota Year
In accordance with the provisions of the Meat Board Act 2004, Quota Allowance Allocation System in Respect of European Union (EU) Sheepmeat and Goatmeat Tariff Rate Quota and the Quota Allowance Allocation System in Respect of United States (US) Beef and Veal Tariff Rate Quota, up to 3% of each of the total annual tariff quotas available to New Zealand is set aside as Reserved Quota Allowance (RQA) for possible allocation to New Entrants.
The closing date for applications from New Entrants (including Year 2 and Year 3 New Entrants) for RQA for the 2005 Quota Year for both tariff quotas is 1 September 2004.
Applications must be made in writing on Form 7 (US Beef and Veal) or Form 8 (EU Sheepmeat and Goatmeat), Section 18 of the respective Quota Manuals.
