Traffic Regulations 1976

Exemption From Left-hand Drive Requirements

Pursuant to Regulation 90 (1) of the Traffic Regulations 1976, and under delegated authority, I, John Patrick White, Manager Safer Vehicles Policy, exempt the vehicle in the Schedule of this notice from the requirement, in Regulation 70 (1) of those Regulations, that the steering column must not be to the left of the longitudinal centre line of the body of the vehicle.

This will allow that vehicle to be operated on the road provided it meets all the warrant of fitness requirements.

Conservation Act 1987

Declaring Land to be Held for Conservation Purposes and Declaration That the Area Become a Reserve, and Appointment of the Otorohanga District Council to Control and Manage the Reserve

Under the Conservation Act 1987, the Community Relations Manager for the Waikato Conservancy of the Department of Conservation hereby declares that the land described in the Schedule is held for conservation purposes, and further declares that the conservation area be set apart as a reserve, subject to the Reserves Act 1977, and classified as a recreation reserve subject to the provisions of the latter Act.

It is further declared that the Otorohanga District Council be appointed to control and manage the reserve for recreation purposes on the special condition that this appointment is subject to review by the Minister of Conservation or his approved delegate on or before settlement of any claim or claims, under the Treaty of Waitangi Act 1975, affecting the reserve.

Declaring Land to be Held for Conservation Purposes

Under the Conservation Act 1987, the Conservator of the Nelson/Marlborough Conservancy of the Department of Conservation, acting under a delegation from the Minister of Conservation, and the Commissioner of Crown Lands, acting under a delegation from the Minister of Land Information being the Minister responsible for the department of State that has control of the land described in the Schedule, jointly declares that the land is held for conservation purposes

Declaration of Controlled Dog Areas to be Known as the Tongariro Controlled Dog Area, Erua Controlled Dog Area and Rangataua Controlled Dog Area, and Established With Conditions

Pursuant to section 26ZS of the Conservation Act 1987, the Conservator for the Tongariro/Taupo Conservancy of the Department of Conservation hereby declares the areas described in the Schedule hereto to be controlled dog areas, and further declares that the said controlled areas be known as the Tongariro Controlled Dog Area, the Eura Controlled Dog Area and the Rangataua Controlled Dog Area, and further imposes the following conditions:

Controlled dog area permits for dog use within these areas will only be issued for dogs which meet the following criteria:

  • The dog is certified as a threatened species dog and is involved in bona fide threatened species management programmes; or
  • the dog has entered a Department of Conservation sponsored Avian Aversion Training Programme; and
  • the dog is clearly identified by a permanent brand, tattoo or other recognised identification mark.

All controlled dog area permits issued for these areas will be subject to the following conditions:

  • The dog must be tied up at night unless it is involved in bona fide management work as part of the National Kiwi Recovery Programme; and
  • the dog must not be kennelled in or under any hut; and
