  • The maritime industry which comprises the operation of vessels, excluding those vessels whose primary purpose is commercial fishing which, through membership, either belong to or are entitled to belong to the Royal New Zealand Coastguard Federation, the New Zealand Shipping Federation and the New Zealand Maritime Transport Association, including vessels operated by the Defence Force or owned by the State, or any vessels used on coastal or inland waterways. These vessels are involved in trade, the carriage and transfer of cargo and passengers, search and rescue, salvage, recreational activities, conservation, scientific research, servicing off-shore oil and gas facilities, dredging, towing, or are governed by the International Convention on Standards for Training, Certification and Watchkeeping (STC&W) and the New Zealand Maritime Transport Act 1994 and its subsequent amendments.

The Traffic (Christchurch City) Notice 2003

Pursuant to section 52 of the Transport Act 1962 and Regulation 21 (2) of the Traffic Regulations 1976, and pursuant to an authority sub-delegated to me by the Land Transport Safety Authority of New Zealand dated 9 June 1997, I, Peter Graeme Croft, Manager, Safer Roads, give the following notice.

Notice

  1. This notice may be cited as the Traffic (Christchurch City) Notice 2003.

  2. The roads specified in the Schedule are declared to be excluded from the limitation as to speed imposed by section 52 of the Transport Act 1962, pursuant to section 52 (2) of that Act, and are also declared to be 70 kilometres an hour speed limit areas pursuant to Regulation 21 (2) of the Traffic Regulations 1976.

  3. This notice revokes only those parts of Traffic (Christchurch City, and Selwyn District at Templeton) Notice 2001* and only those parts of plan number LT01/56/4 entitled β€œGazetted Speed Restrictions for Roads in Christchurch City and Roads at Templeton in Selwyn District”, that relate to the sections of Anzac Drive and Bexley Road specified in the Schedule.

Schedule
Situated within the Christchurch City:

Anzac Drive: From a point 200 metres measured southerly, generally, along the said road from the prolongation of the centre line of Birch Street to a point 400 metres measured south-easterly, generally, along the said road from Wainoni Road.

Bexley Road: From the prolongation of the centre line of Birch Street to a point 200 metres measured southerly, generally, along the said road from the prolongation of the centre line of Birch Street.

The Traffic (Central Otago District) Notice, 2003

Pursuant to section 52 of the Transport Act 1962 and Regulation 21 (2) of the Traffic Regulations 1976 and pursuant to an authority sub-delegated to me by the Land Transport Safety Authority of New Zealand dated 9 June 1997, I, Peter Graeme Croft, Manager, Safer Roads, give the following notice.

Notice

  1. This notice may be cited as the Traffic (Central Otago District) Notice, 2003.

  2. The roads specified in the First Schedule are declared to be closely populated localities at all times for the purposes of section 52 of the Transport Act 1962.

  3. The roads specified in the Second Schedule are declared to be 70 kilometres an hour speed limit areas pursuant to Regulation 21 (2) of the Traffic Regulations 1976.

  4. All of the Traffic (Central Otago District) Notice No. 1, 1991, dated 14 January 1991, is revoked.*

  5. All of the Traffic (Central Otago District) Notice 1997, dated 31 January 1997, is revoked.**
