The Traffic (Taupo District) Notice 2003

Pursuant to section 52 of the Transport Act 1962 and Regulation 21 (2) of the Traffic Regulations 1976, and pursuant to an authority sub-delegated to me by the Land Transport Safety Authority of New Zealand dated 9 June 1997, I, Peter Graeme Croft, Manager, Safer Roads, give the following notice.

Notice

  1. This notice may be cited as the Traffic (Taupo District) Notice 2003.

  2. That part of the Fourth Schedule of the Traffic (Taupo District) Notice No. 1, 1992* that relates to State Highway No. 1 at Turangi is revoked and that part of State Highway No. 1 at Turangi is also declared to be excluded from the limitation as to speed imposed by section 52 of the Transport Act 1962.

The Traffic (Ashburton District) Notice 2003

Pursuant to section 52 of the Transport Act 1962 and Regulation 21 (2) of the Traffic Regulations 1976, and pursuant to an authority sub-delegated to me by the Land Transport Safety Authority of New Zealand dated 9 June 1997, I, Peter Graeme Croft, Manager, Safer Roads, give the following notice.

Notice

  1. This notice may be cited as the Traffic (Ashburton District) Notice 2003.

  2. Those localities and roads on the plan numbered LT0354/1, entitled “Ashburton District Speed Restrictions at Ashburton” and held by the Head Office of the Land Transport Safety Authority and indicated by markings in accordance with the legend on that plan, are declared to be:

    (a) closely populated localities at all times, pursuant to section 52 (1) of the Transport Act 1962; or

    (b) 70 kilometres an hour speed limit areas pursuant to Regulation 21 (2) of the Traffic Regulations 1976;

    as may be ascertained from the legend. The said plan and legend are hereby incorporated into this notice.

  3. The Traffic (Ashburton District) Notice 2001* dated 25 July 2001 is revoked.

The Traffic (Grey District) Notice 2003

Pursuant to section 52 of the Transport Act 1962 and pursuant to an authority sub-delegated to me by the Land Transport Safety Authority of New Zealand dated 9 June 1997, I, Peter Graeme Croft, Manager, Safer Roads, give the following notice.

Notice

  1. This notice may be cited as the Traffic (Grey District) Notice 2003.

  2. I hereby declare those localities and roads within markings identified in the legend of and appearing on plan numbered LT0364/1, entitled “Grey District Speed Restrictions at Runanga” and held by the Head Office of the Land Transport Safety Authority, to be closely populated localities, pursuant to section 52 (1) of the Transport Act 1962, or to be excluded from the limitation as to speed imposed by section 52 (1) of that Act, pursuant to section 52 (2), as may be ascertained from that legend. The said plan and legend are hereby incorporated in this notice.

  3. This notice revokes and is in substitution for those parts of the extract from New Zealand Gazette, 21 April 1938, No. 31, page 1000, entitled “Excluding Streets and Roads from Limitation as to Speed imposed by the Motor-vehicles Amendment Act, 1936, Section 3”* that relate to Runanga Borough.

Maritime Transport Act 1994

Maritime Rules Part 90 (1 April 2003)—Notice of Exemption from Rule 90.4

I, Russell Paul Kilvington, Director of Maritime Safety, pursuant to section 47 (2) (b) (iii) and section 47 (3) of the Maritime Transport Act 1994, hereby give notice as follows.

The pilots

  • David Yeowell
  • David Edge
  • Len Mounsey; and
  • John Henderson

are exempt from the requirement to hold a pilot licence under Rule 90.4 when performing pilot duties in the Fiordland pilotage areas.

The Fiordland pilotage areas defined in Part 90 are:

  • Bligh Sound Harbour
  • Breaksea and Dusky Sounds Harbours
  • Caswell Sound
  • Chalky Inlet Harbour
  • Charles Sound Harbour
  • Doubtful and Thompson Sounds Harbours
  • George Sound Harbour
  • Milford Sound Harbour
  • Nancy Sound Harbour
  • Poison Bay Harbour
  • Preservation Inlet Harbour
  • Sutherland Sound Harbour

This exemption expires on 2 October 2003 unless earlier revoked.
