Exemption From Specified Requirements of the Traffic Regulations 1976

Pursuant to Regulation 90 (2) of the Traffic Regulations 1976, and pursuant to the powers delegated to me by the Director of Land Transport Safety Authority, I, Brent Blann, Technical Manager, hereby exempt the motorcycles specified in Schedule 1 of this notice from the requirements in Schedule 2, subject to the conditions in Schedule 3.

Schedule 1
All BMW R 1200 CL motorcycles.

Schedule 2
The requirement from which the class of vehicle in Schedule 1 is exempted:

Regulation 58 (1) (c) of the Traffic Regulations 1976:

“Every motor vehicle (other than a moped or trailer) shall be equipped:

(c) In the case of a motorcycle, with at least one and not more than two headlamps attached thereto”.

Schedule 3
Conditions

(i) This exemption is conditional on the motorcycles having been shown to comply with UN/ECE Regulation 53.

(ii) This exemption may be revoked at any time.

Approval of Flashing or Revolving Green Beacons

Pursuant to Regulation 67 (8) of the Traffic Regulations 1976, and under delegated authority, I, John Andrew Justice, Principal Vehicle Engineer Land Transport Safety Authority, hereby approve the fitting of one flashing or revolving green beacon to the vehicles specified in Schedule 1 of this notice, subject to the conditions specified in Schedule 2.

Schedule 1
Approved vehicles:
Any vehicle operated by a rural nurse specialist employed by the West Coast District Health Board.

Schedule 2
Conditions:

(i) The beacon may be used only while the vehicle is on urgent medical service.

(ii) The exemption may be revoked at any time.

Maritime Transport Act 1994

Notice of Approval—Part 132 of the Marine Protection Rules

Pursuant to Marine Protection Rule 132.4, I, Russell Paul Kilvington, Director of Maritime Safety, hereby give the following notice.

The dispersant known as Dasic Slickgone NS and manufactured in the United Kingdom by Dasic International Limited is hereby approved as a Type 2 and Type 3 dispersant for the purposes of the Maritime Transport Act 1994.

The approval is subject to the following conditions:

  1. This approved dispersant shall not be used except for the purpose of combating marine oil spills, subject to an approved marine oil spill contingency plan.

  2. The approved dispersant shall not be used except in accordance with the application procedures and guidelines recommended by the manufacturer.

  3. Each batch of the approved dispersant shall be tested to ensure it complies with the specifications set out for Type 2 and Type 3 dispersants under Marine Protection Rule – Part 132.9 (1). Copies of all such test certificates shall be provided to the director prior to distribution of the dispersant.

  4. If the composition of the approved dispersant or its technical specifications change from the details given in the application for approval dated August 2002 and submitted to the director, the grantee is required to notify the director.

Exemption From Specified Requirements of the Traffic Regulations 1976

Pursuant to Regulation 90 (2) of the Traffic Regulations 1976, and pursuant to the powers delegated to me by the Director of Land Transport Safety Authority, I, Brent Blann, Technical Manager, hereby exempt the vehicles specified in Schedule 1 of this notice from the requirements in Schedule 2, subject to the conditions in Schedule 3.

Schedule 1
All Holden Commodore models of the “VT” and later series and all Holden Statesman and Caprice models of the “VH” and later series.

Schedule 2
The requirement from which the class of vehicles in Schedule 1 is exempted:

Regulation 58 (3) (b) of the Traffic Regulations 1976.

Schedule 3
Conditions

(i) The vehicles covered in Schedule 1 have been certified as complying with ADR 13.

(ii) The headlamps are aligned in accordance with the manufacturer’s specifications.

(iii) This exemption will lapse on the day that Land Transport Rule: Vehicle Lighting (Rule 32005) comes into force.
