Notice of Publication of Financial Statements of the Crown
Pursuant to section 31B of the Public Finance Act 1989, the Minister of Finance gives notice of the publication of the financial statements of the Crown for:
● the seven months ended 31 January 2003, on 14 March 2003.
Copies of these financial statements are available:
● for inspection free of charge at the National Library of New Zealand, Auckland City Library, Wellington Public Library and Canterbury Public Library;
● for purchase at branches of Bennetts bookshops; and
● through the internet at: http://www.treasury.govt.nz

The Traffic (Hurunui District) Notice No. 1, 2003
Pursuant to section 52 of the Transport Act 1962 and pursuant to an authority sub-delegated to me by the Land Transport Safety Authority of New Zealand dated 9 June 1997, I, Peter Graeme Croft, Manager, Safer Roads, give the following notice.

This notice may be cited as the Traffic (Hurunui District) Notice No. 1, 2003.

I hereby declare those roads within markings identified in the Legend of and appearing on the plan numbered LT0357/1, entitled “Hurunui District Speed Restrictions at Gore Bay” and held by the Head Office of the Land Transport Safety Authority, to be closely populated localities, pursuant to section 52 (1) of the Transport Act 1962, as may be ascertained from the Legend. The said plan and Legend are hereby incorporated in this notice.

Traffic Regulations 1976
Exemption From Specified Requirements of the Traffic Regulations 1976
Pursuant to Regulation 90 (2) of the Traffic Regulations 1976, and pursuant to the powers delegated to me by the Director of Land Transport Safety Authority, I, Brent Blann, Technical Manager, hereby exempt the heavy motor vehicles specified in Schedule 1 of this notice from the requirements in Schedule 2, subject to the conditions in Schedule 3.
Schedule 1
All heavy goods service vehicles.
Schedule 2
The requirement from which the class of vehicle in Schedule 1 is exempted:
Regulation 62 (5) of the Traffic Regulations 1976: “Rear reflectors on heavy goods vehicles to measure 65mm in diameter”.
Schedule 3
Conditions
(i) The vehicle must be fitted with two red rear reflectors, each with a lens area of not less than 30cm².
(ii) The reflectors must comply with a relevant standard listed in the Second Schedule of the Transport (Vehicle Standards) Regulations 1990.
(iii) The reflectors are fitted so that they are displayed in a position within 150mm of the rear extremity of the vehicle, and so that one of the reflectors is displayed within 150mm of the extremity of the left side of the vehicle and the other reflector within 150mm of the right side of the vehicle.
(iv) The reflector shall not have a dimension of less than 30mm in either the vertical or the horizontal axis.
(v) This notice will be revoked when the Land Transport Rule: Vehicle Lighting comes into force.
