(i)

Te Reo Maori will be the principal language of this school (i.e. of instruction, of communication), and at the same time the board will acknowledge the importance of other languages, which will also be taught.

(ii)

The school will retain, maintain, and uphold cultural integrity with Tikanga Maori as a guiding philosophy (i.e. those primary cultural concepts and practices pertinent to the inclusion and acknowledgement of Nga Iwi o Tainui – Te Kingitanga, and Nga Iwi katoa o te motu).

(iii)

The school will reflect a holistic learning environment (i.e. physically, educationally, socially, culturally, and spiritually) where emphasis will be placed on encouraging students to actively participate in all fields of traditional and modern sciences and technology within all curriculum areas.

(iv)

Students will be motivated to participate fully to the best of their abilities, in the learning programmes of this school.

(v)

Students will develop a global understanding of cultural, educational, and social development and advancement.

Constitution of the Board of Trustees

  1. The Board of Trustees of Te Wharekura o Kirikiriroa shall comprise:

(a) five people appointed by the Minister;

(a) the principal, or principal designate;

(a) not more than four persons co-opted by the board.

(ii) Ma te kura e pupuri, e tiaki, e hapai te mana o nga tikanga Maori hei whakaaro nui o te kura kia kitea ai, kia pupurihia ai te mana o te ao Maori. Ka ata tirohia, ka ata whakamahia nga kawa whakahaere me nga tikanga a Nga Iwi o Tainui, Te Kingitanga me Nga Iwi katoa o te motu.

(iii) Kia kitea ai he wahi ako tenei e aro ana ki nga ahuatanga katoa o te whanau whanui, ara, ki nga whare ako, ki te taha tinana, wairua, matauranga, ahurea, noho hapori hoki. Education (Early Childhood Centres)

Regulations 1998

Cancellation of Licence for an Early Childhood Centre

Pursuant to Regulation 10(3) of the Education (Early Childhood Centres) Regulations 1998, and acting under authority delegated by the Secretary for Education, I hereby cancel the licence dated 14 October 2002, which was granted under those Regulations to Ilisapesi Koloamatangi in respect of Heilala Pre-School (10089), situated at St Paul’s College, 183 Richmond Road, Ponsonby, Auckland.

This notice shall take effect the day after the date of its notification in the New Zealand Gazette.

Private Schools Conditional Integration Act 1975

Cancellation of Integration Agreement

Pursuant to section 15 of the Private Schools Conditional Integration Act 1975, I hereby give notice that the integration agreement for

St Columba’s School, Waipawa (2675)

signed on 4 December 1982 between the Minister of Education, on behalf of Her Majesty the Queen, and the Catholic Bishop of the Diocese of Palmerston North is cancelled as from 28 February 2003.
