Order of the Nursing Council in Disciplinary Session in Respect of a Registered Comprehensive Nurse
After due inquiry and in exercise of its powers under sections 42 (1) (b), 42 (2) (d), 42 (3), 43 (3), 48A and 48f of the Nurses Act 1977, the Nursing Council of New Zealand (“the council”), in a decision dated 2 April 2003, ordered that the comprehensive nurse be censured.
The council also ordered that the nurse pay $2,640.00 towards the costs and expenses of and incidental to the investigation and prosecution by the director of proceedings and inquiry by the council, and that a notice stating the effect of these orders be published in the New Zealand Gazette, Kai Tiaki: Nursing New Zealand, the council’s newsletter and made available to accredited members of the media upon request, with the names of all parties and identifying features of the case suppressed.

Order of the Nursing Council in Disciplinary Session in Respect of Deborah Karen Ashby, Registered Psychopaedic Nurse
Pursuant to sections 42 (1) (a), 42 (2) (a), 42 (3), 42 (9) and 48A of the Nurses Act 1977, the Nursing Council of New Zealand (“the council”), in a decision dated 29 April 2003, ordered that Deborah Karen Ashby’s name be removed from the Register of Psychopaedic Nurses.
This followed conviction in the Christchurch District Court on two charges of using a document for pecuniary advantage, pursuant to section 229A (b) of the Crimes Act 1961.
Deborah Karen Ashby was sentenced by the Court to 300 hours of community work and ordered to pay total reparation of $33,590.00.
In exercising its disciplinary powers, the council declined to fix a time that Deborah Karen Ashby may apply for reinstatement to the Register.
It also ordered that Deborah Karen Ashby pay $600.00 of the costs of and incidental to the inquiry, that a notice stating the effect of the orders be published in the New Zealand Gazette, Kai Tiaki: Nursing New Zealand, the Nursing Review, the nursing council’s newsletter and made available to accredited members of the media, and that she return to the Registrar all certificates and badges issued to her under the Nurses Act 1977.

Notice for Submissions on Draft Code for the Co-location of Radiocommunications Facilities for Regulated Telecommunications Services
Pursuant to Schedule 2 of the Telecommunications Act 2001, the Telecommunications Carriers’ Forum has prepared a draft code for the co-location of radiocommunications facilities for regulated telecommunications services.
The specified services to which this draft code relates, as described in Part 3 to Schedule 1 of the Act, are:
(a) for the co-location on cellular mobile transmission sites; and
(b) for the co-location of equipment for fixed telecommunications services at sites used by Broadcast Communications Limited.
A copy of the draft code can be downloaded from Telecommunications Carriers’ Forum web site at: http://www.tcf.org.nz/
