Education Act 1989
Amendment of Notice of Appointment of a Limited Statutory Manager for the Board of Trustees of Te Aute College (232) and Notice of Appointment of a Second Limited Statutory Manager (Finance)
Pursuant to section 78M of the Education Act 1989, I hereby amend the notice published in the New Zealand Gazette, 12 June 2003, page 1764, regarding the appointment of a limited statutory manager for the board of Te Aute College and direct the Secretary for Education to appoint a second limited statutory manager (finance) for the board of Te Aute College because of risks to the operation of the school and the welfare and educational performance of the students at the school.
The following functions, powers and duties of the board are vested in the limited statutory manager:
- Management of health and safety of students and staff;
- personnel management including performance management and appraisal of staff;
- development and monitoring of management structures, including delegations and inter-staff communications;
- ensuring implementation of the action plan; and
- hostel management.
The limited statutory manager must also advise the board on the following:
- Curriculum management;
- property management;
- board and community relations; and
- roles and responsibilities of governance.
The following functions, powers and duties of the board are vested in the limited statutory manager (finance):
- Financial management.
The following conditions apply to the exercising of the powers of the board and the limited statutory managers:
- The trust board will be consulted as appropriate and advised of progress; and
- the powers of the limited statutory managers shall be exercised in consultation with one another and with the board of trustees.
This notice takes effect the day after the date of publication of this notice.

Pursuant to section 283 of the Fisheries Act 1996, I hereby give notice that I have appointed

to be chairperson of the Catch History Review Committee; and
James Boyack, solicitor of Auckland
Jacquelin Lowe, solicitor of Christchurch
to be members of the Catch History Review Committee.
The appointments shall expire on 30 September 2008.
This notice shall come into force the day after the notification in the New Zealand Gazette.
