This notice, which comes into force on 30 September 2003, sets or varies the total allowable commercial catch of the stocks listed, on and from the first day of the next fishing year for the stock concerned.

Fisheries (Total Allowable Catch) Notice (No. 3) 2003 (No. F263)
Pursuant to section 13 of the Fisheries Act 1996, the Minister of Fisheries makes the following notice.
Notice

Title and commencement—(1) This notice is the Fisheries (Total Allowable Catch) Notice (No. 3) 2003.
(2) This notice comes into force on 30 September 2003. -
Interpretation—In this notice unless the context otherwise requires:
(a) The fishstock codes referred to in the Schedule have the same meaning as in Schedule 3 of the Fisheries (Reporting) Regulations 2001.
(b) The quota management areas (other than paua quota management areas) referred to by reference number in the schedule to this notice are the fishery management areas having the same reference number in Part I of the First Schedule to the Fisheries Act 1996. Where two or more quota management areas are shown as combined in respect of any species of fish, the combined areas together comprise one quota management area for that species.
(c) The quota management areas for paua referred to by reference number in the Schedule to this notice are the quota management areas for paua having the same reference number described in Part III of the First Schedule to the Fisheries Act 1996.
- Total Allowable Catch—The Total Allowable Catch for each quota management stock is that amount stated in the final column of the Schedule to this notice.

Fisheries (South Island Customary Fishing) Regulations 1999
Fisheries (South Island Customary Fishing) Notice (No. 45) 2003 (No. F261)
Pursuant to Regulation 9 of the Fisheries (South Island Customary Fishing) Regulations 1999, and acting under delegated authority, the Associate Minister of Fisheries hereby gives the following notice.
Notice
- Title and commencement—(1) This notice may be cited as the Fisheries (South Island Customary Fishing) Notice (No. 45) 2003.
(2) This notice shall come into effect the day after the date of its notification in the New Zealand Gazette.
- Interpretation—In this notice:
(a) “customary food gathering” has the same meaning as defined in the Fisheries (South Island Customary Fishing) Regulations 1999.
(b) “Tāngata Tiaki/Kaitiaki” means the person or persons appointed under Regulation 9 of the Fisheries (South Island Customary Fishing) Regulations 1999 as Tāngata Tiaki/Kaitiaki for a general customary food gathering area/rohe moana and confirmed in clause 4 of this notice.
(c) “the area/rohe moana” means the area from the Shag Rock, South Shore Spit, to Adderley Head, excluding the Avon/Heathcote estuary, and extending seaward to the limit of South Island fisheries waters.
