Notice of Product Ruling

1. This is a notice of a product ruling made under section 91F of the Tax Administration Act 1994.

2. Product ruling No. 03/13 was issued on 2 July 2003. It relates to the engagement of persons pursuant to a standard form contract, for the delivery of newspapers, leaflets, brochures, catalogues, advertising material, samples and other such items to households and other premises throughout New Zealand. It will appear in Inland Revenue’s Tax Information Bulletin, Vol. 15, No. 9, of September 2003.

3. From 25 September 2003, a copy of the ruling may be obtained by writing to the Manager, Field Liaison & Communication (Adjudication & Rulings), National Office, Inland Revenue, P.O. Box 2198, Wellington.

Terrorism Suppression Act 2002

Designation of Terrorist Individuals and Entities

On 10 September 2003, pursuant to section 22 of the Terrorism Suppression Act 2002, the individuals listed below have been designated as terrorist entities as relevant for the purposes of the Terrorism Suppression Act 2002.

Individuals

Zelimkhan Ahmedovic Yandarbiev (also known as Abdul-Muslimovich). Date of Birth: 12 September 1952. Place of Birth: Eastern Kazakhstan region, village of Vydriha, USSR.

Shamil Basayev (also known as Abdullakh Shamil Abu-Idris). Date of Birth: 14 January 1965. Place of Birth: Chechen village of Dyshni-Vedeno, Chechen Republic.

These designations expire on 10 September 2006, unless they are earlier revoked or extended pursuant to the Terrorism Suppression Act 2002.

Notice of Claim

This notice is given pursuant to section 101 (2) of the Public Trust Act 2001.

To all creditors and claimants of Jobsurf Limited (a company that ceased trading and was deregistered in 2002):

The sum of $20,166.00 has been paid to Public Trust to hold in the name of the deregistered company.

A claim has been lodged by Malcolm Hanson, a former director and shareholder of the company.

The Public Trust is proposing to pay the amount of the claim (less associated costs) to Malcolm Hanson, subject to any notice of claim being received on or prior to 16 October 2003.

Any person having any interest in priority to that of the claimant’s is to submit a claim to the National Manager Public Trust Central Service Centre, P.O. Box 31-543, Lower Hutt (Attention: Ken Southam) on or prior to the above-mentioned date.

Note: This is the first and only notice of this claim.

Notice 18 September 2003

Pursuant to sections 50 (1) and 50 (5) of the Public Trust Act 2001 (“the Act”), the following notice is given.

Notice

1. Title and commencement—(1) This notice may be cited as the Public Trust Common Fund Interest Rates Notice 18 September 2003.

(2) The determinations and revocation notified in this notice take effect from and including 11 September 2003.

2. Interpretation—(1) Unless the context otherwise requires:

“agency deposit” means a deposit (not being an investment deposit) held as agent or attorney;

“call deposit” means a deposit (not being an agency deposit, an investment deposit, a special deposit or a trust deposit) held in the ordinary course of administration, and determined by Public Trust to be held at call;

“deposit” means a sum of money held by Public Trust belonging to any estate, which money for the time being forms part of the Common Fund;

“investment deposit” means a deposit held at call or otherwise as an investment under section 51 of the Act;
