ORDER IN COUNCIL

At Wellington this 25th day of August 2003

Present:
HER EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL

Pursuant to section 4 of the Business Development Boards
Act 1991, Her Excellency the Governor-General, acting on
the advice and with the consent of the Executive Council,
makes the following order.

Order

  1. Title and commencement—This order is the Business
    Development Boards (Dissolution) Order 2003.

  2. Commencement—This order comes into force on
    5 September 2003.

  3. New Zealand Business Development Board dissolved—The New Zealand Business Development Board is
    dissolved at 12.00 midnight on 5 September 2003.

  4. Clause 5 of Business Development Boards (Dissolution and Establishment) Order 1998 revoked—Clause 5 of Business Development Boards (Dissolution and Establishment) Order 1998 is revoked with effect from
    12.00 midnight on 5 September 2003.

Explanatory Note

This note is not part of the order, but is intended to indicate
its general effect.

A provision is included in the Statutes Amendment Bill
(No 3) 2002 for the repeal of the Business Development Boards
Act 1991. In anticipation of the repeal of that Act, this
order dissolves the New Zealand Business Development
Board, the last remaining business development board, at
12.00 midnight on 5 September 2003. The majority of the
business development boards established under the Business
Development Boards Act 1991 were dissolved in 1998.
