Forest Industries Training and Education Council

The Board of Skill New Zealand – Pūkenga Aotearoa,
pursuant to section 5 of the Industry Training Act 1992,
approved the extension of the existing coverage of the
Forest Industries Training and Education Council to set
standards at Levels 1 to 8 on the National Qualifications
Framework for Biosecurity (Border Quarantine), covering
Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry Service staff engaged
in border quarantine activities including international cargo
clearances, international vessel clearances, international
aircraft clearances and international mail clearances,
effective from 31 October 2002.

Electrotechnology Industry Training Organisation Incorporated

The Board of Skill New Zealand – Pūkenga Aotearoa,
pursuant to section 5 of the Industry Training Act 1992 and
having consulted with the New Zealand Qualifications
Authority, afforded recognition to the Electrotechnology
Industry Training Organisation Incorporated to set standards
at Levels 1 to 8 on the National Qualifications Framework
for the electrical, telecommunications and security industries,
effective from 1 December 2002.

Master Plumbers, Gasfitters and Drainlayers Industry Training Organisation Incorporated

The Board of Skill New Zealand – Pūkenga Aotearoa,
pursuant to section 5 of the Industry Training Act 1992 and
having consulted with the New Zealand Qualifications
Authority, afforded recognition to the Master Plumbers,
Gasfitters and Drainlayers Industry Training Organisation
Incorporated to set standards at Levels 1 to 8 on the National
Qualifications Framework for the plumbing, gasfitting
and drainlaying, concrete roof tiling, metal roofing and
cladding manufacturing industries for a further period of
five years with effect from 20 October 2002.

Design and Construction Consultants Industry Training Organisation Incorporated

The Board of Skill New Zealand – Pūkenga Aotearoa,
pursuant to section 8 of the Industry Training Act 1992
and having consulted with the New Zealand Qualifications
Authority, afforded provisional recognition to the Design
and Construction Consultants Industry Training Organisation
Incorporated for a period of 14 months to set standards at
Levels 1 to 8 on the National Qualifications Framework for
the design and construction consultants industry, effective
from 30 October 2002.

It will set standards on the National Qualifications Framework
in the following areas: For enterprises whose core business is
involved with property valuation, architecture, engineering,
graphics, product development, management, manufacturing,
surveying, planning and environmental services or associated
activities in a design and construction related process.

Authority, afforded recognition to the New Zealand Industry
Training Organisation to set standards at Levels 1 to 8
on the national qualifications framework for the dairy,
meat processing and felmongery sectors, effective from
3 November 2002.

Power Crane Association Industry Training Organisation

The Board of Skill New Zealand – Pūkenga Aotearoa,
pursuant to section 8 of the Industry Training Act 1992
and having consulted with the New Zealand Qualifications
Authority, afforded full recognition to the Power Crane
Association Industry Training Organisation for a period of
five years, to set standards at Levels 1 to 8 on the National
Qualifications Framework for the power crane industry in
the following area: The operation of all forms of cranes
including mobile, crawler, tower, truck mounted, travelling
gantry and overhead cranes, container and harbour cranes,
crane site supervision and the rigging and slinging of loads,
effective from 21 October 2002.

Local Government Industry Training Organisation

The Board of Skill New Zealand – Pūkenga Aotearoa,
pursuant to section 8 of the Industry Training Act 1992 and
having consulted with the New Zealand Qualifications
Authority, afforded provisional recognition to the Local
Government Industry Training Organisation for a period
of 12 months effective from 30 November 2002, to set
standards at Levels 1 to 8 on the National Qualifications
Framework for the local government and civil defence
industry.

Sport Fitness and Recreation Industry Training Organisation Limited

The Board of Skill New Zealand – Pūkenga Aotearoa,
pursuant to section 8 of the Industry Training Act 1992,
afforded provisional recognition to Sport Fitness and
Recreation Industry Training Organisation (SFRITO) Limited
to set standards at Levels 1 to 8 on the National Qualifications
Framework for the sport fitness and recreation industry
including the planning, management, promotion and delivery
of sport, fitness, community recreation, outdoor recreation
and ski industries, for a period of six months effective from
18 December 2002.
