8.2
No person shall fish from any boat or any form of flotation device in:
- The Eglinton River.
- The Mararoa River.
- The Mataura River upstream from the Mataura Island bridge.
- The Oreti River upstream of the State Highway No 94 bridge just north of Lumsden.
- The Waiau River from the confluence of the Monowai River to the Mararoa Weir.
- The Waikaia River.
9. DAILY LIMIT BAGS
9.1 Trophy Trout Zones:
No person shall on any one day take, kill or be in possession of more than 1 trout from any Trophy Trout Zone, provided that any trout more than 40cm in length taken within the described Trophy Trout zones shall be immediately released with as little injury as possible back into the water from which it has been taken. No person shall kill or possess trout over 40cm taken from the following Trophy Trout Zones:
- Oreti River and tributaries from the headwaters to the downstream limit of the "walk only zone" at map ref NZMS 260 D43 294185.
- Mataura River and tributaries upstream of the road bridge at Garston.
9.2 Other Waters:
9.2.1
No person shall in any one day take, kill or be in possession of more than 2 trout from one or more of the following waters, including their tributaries:
- All rivers and streams flowing into Lakes Te Anau, Manapouri, Monowai, Hauroko, and Hankinson, except for the upper Waiau and the Mararoa River downstream of the State Highway No. 94 bridge at The Key.
- All tributaries of the Mataura above the Ardlussa Bridge (excluding Brightwater).
- All tributaries of the Waikaia River.
- Aparima River upstream of the Hamilton Burn confluence.
- Borland River.
- Hamilton Burn and its tributaries.
- Lake Thomas.
- Lake Waituna.
- Mararoa River upstream of the State Highway No. 94 bridge at The Key including the Mavora Lakes.
- Monowai River.
- Oreti River upstream of Rocky Point subject to Clause 9.1.
- Otamita River above Otamita Gorge Road Bridge.
- Wairaki River upstream of the electricity transmission lines.
- Whitestone River.
9.2.2
No person shall on any one day take, kill or be in possession of more than 4 trout from any other waters in the region.
9.2.3
Subject to Clause 3, no person shall in any one day take, kill or be in possession of more than 1 salmon from any waters of the region.
9.2.4
No person shall on any one day take, kill or be in possession of more than 4 sports fish.
