  2. OPEN SEASON

    All rivers and lakes draining into the Tasman Sea.
    Aparima River, from the Thornbury bridge to the sea.
    Lake Hauroko.
    Lake Manapouri (includes that portion of the Waiau River between Pearl Harbour and the confluence of the Mararoa River).
    Lake Monowai.
    Lake Poteriteri.
    Lake Te Anau.
    Makarewa River, from the Riverton / Invercargill highway bridge downstream.
    Mataura River, from the Gorge Road bridge to the sea.
    North Lake Mavora.
    Oreti River, from the Riverton / Invercargill highway bridge to the sea.
    South Lake Mavora.
    Pourakino River, downstream from Waipango Bridge.
    Titiroa River, downstream of the Locks adjacent to the State Highway No. 92 bridge.
    Waiau River, from the Tuatapere Bridge to the sea including Te Wae Wae Lagoon but excluding the Hollyburn.
    Waihopai River, downstream from the Queens Drive Bridge.
    Waikawa River, from the Niagara Bridge to the sea.
    Waikiwi Stream, downstream from the North Road Bridge.
    Waimatuku Stream, downstream from the bridge on Rance Road.
    Waiau River, between Lakes Manapouri and Te Anau, and between the Mararoa Weir and the Tuatapere Bridge.
    Whitestone River upstream of Prospect Bridge on Kakapo Road.
    All waters draining into Lakes Te Anau, Manapouri, Monowai, Hauroko and Poteriteri except the Waiau River and Mararoa River and its tributaries.
    All other waters of the region except those specified in Section 3 (Closed Waters).

  3. CLOSED WATERS

    No person shall take sports fish from the following waters:

    That portion of Lake Manapouri which lies with 100m of any part of the Fiordland Travel Company’s Tourist Centre, Pearl Harbour, Manapouri.
    That portion of Lake Te Anau that lies within 100m of any part of the wharf of the Fiordland Travel Company’s office in the township of Te Anau.
