Civil Aviation Act 1990

Notice of Designation of Countries for Open Aviation Market Licences

Pursuant to the Civil Aviation Act 1990, I, Mark Gosche, Minister of Transport, hereby give notice that I have exercised the power conferred by section 87R of the Civil Aviation Act 1990, and designated Samoa and Tonga as countries in respect of which:

(a) scheduled international air services; and
(b) non-scheduled international flights engaged in the carriage of passengers, cargo or mail for remuneration or hire;

may be carried on, to and from New Zealand, pursuant to and in conformity with an open aviation market licence.
This designation shall come into effect from the date of this notice.

Civil Aviation Rule

Parts 71 and 73β€”Designation of Airspace

Pursuant to Civil Aviation Rule Part 71.7 (b) (i), the following amendment is designated with effect from 16 May 2002:

  1. The New Zealand Flight Information Region is designated as Reduced Vertical Separation Minimum (RVSM) airspace from flight level 290 to flight level 410, exclusive status for RVSM flights.

Pursuant to Civil Aviation Rule Part 73.7 (b) (i), the following amendment is designated with effect from 13 June 2002:

  1. A new danger area for space re-entry activity is established (NZD020) in the eastern portion of the Auckland Oceanic Flight Information Region.

Pursuant to Civil Aviation Rule Part 71.7 (b) (1), the following amendments are designated with effect from 11 July 2002:

  1. The McMurdo Sector of the Auckland Oceanic Flight Information Region is designated as Required Navigation Performance 10 (RNP10) airspace from flight level 245 to flight level 460;
  2. The Hamilton Control Zone West, East and Instrument Sectors have boundary changes.

Pursuant to Civil Aviation Rule Part 71.7 (b) (i), the following amendments are designated with effect from 8 August 2002:

  1. The Auckland Oceanic Flight Information Region has an amendment on the boundary coincident with the Oakland Oceanic and Nadi Flight Information Regions.
  2. Two new Sectors are established within the Auckland Oceanic Flight Information Region (Samoa and Tonga Sectors).
  3. A new Fua’amotu Control Zone and Terminal Control Areas are established within the Tonga Sector.

Prescribed pursuant to Part 71 and Part 73 of the Civil Aviation Rules, under a delegated authority issued by the Director of Civil Aviation.
