4.7 Standard Wording

Introduction

Preamble

4.7.1
The following section defines the meaning of commonly used statements that appear on the artwork. If the specific words are used the meaning of these words as specified in this section must be preserved. Variations will be considered on a case by case basis and must satisfy the mandatory requirements in the previous sections of this specification document.

Qualifications

4.7.2
The majority of this wording is only relevant for five reel games.

4.7.3
Some of these statements, in which the meaning is very broad, must be read in conjunction with other statements in order to accurately describe the game's rules.

4.7.4
Many of the statements can be combined, but individual cases are not discussed. Not all the wording used during features are included as they may be relevant only for specific games.

4.7.5
Game instructions relative to triggers of feature games are also not specified, neither are other game instructions that do not vary between different games for the same manufacturer.

4.7.6
Because of the large variety of statements that can be constructed, only examples of a particular kind of statement are covered. For example, if one statement includes references to scatters such as “Except Scatters” then such references can be extended to a number of other statements. The reader is responsible to identify such situations and to construct appropriate variations.

4.7.7
For some statements there exists an opposite statement. These opposites are not specified. For example, if the instructions say “no free games can be triggered during free games” the opposite statement would read “additional free games can be triggered during free games”.

4.7.8
The following sections give samples of possible statements that may appear on the artwork. Statements which are different to those contained in the following section and which are not ambiguous and sufficiently explain the game's rules are also acceptable.
