Commencement—This Amendment comes into effect
on 1 April 2002. -
Increasing rates of Childcare and OSCAR
Subsidies—(1) Each provision of Schedule 1 of the
Programme listed in the first column of Schedule 1 is
amended by omitting every expression set out opposite to it
in the second column, and substituting in each case the
expression set out opposite to it in the third column.
(2) Each provision of Schedule 2 of the Programme listed in
the first column of Schedule 2 is amended by omitting every
expression set out opposite to it in the second column, and
substituting in each case the expression set out opposite to it
in the third column.

Explanatory Note:
This note is not part of the amendment, but is intended to
explain their general effect.
This Amendment makes changes to the Childcare
Assistance Welfare Programme under section 124 (1) (d) of
the Social Security Act 1964.
Clause 3 amends the rates of Childcare Subsidy and OSCAR
Subsidy to take into account a CPI increase of 1.82%.
The Amendment comes into effect 1 April 2002.

Training Incentive Allowance Amendment 2002
Pursuant to section 124 (1) (d) of the Social Security Act
1964, the Minister of Social Services and Employment
establishes and approves the following Amendment to the
Training Incentive Allowance Programme (as established
and approved on 30 November 1998).

A m e n d m e n t
- Title—(1) This is the Training Incentive Allowance
Amendment 2002.
(2) In this Amendment, the Training Incentive Allowance
Programme is called “the programme”.

Commencement—This Amendment comes into effect
on 1 April 2002. -
Increasing weekly rate of allowance—Clause 5.2.1 of
the programme is amended by omitting paragraph (b) and
substituting the following paragraph:
“(b) the Applicant has been granted an exemption from
the work test on the ground in Regulation 4 (2) (cb)
of the Social Security (Exemptions under Section
105) Regulations 1998.”
- Increasing weekly rate of allowance—Clause 6.1.1 of
the programme is amended by omitting the expressions
“78.38” and “3,135.20” and substituting the expressions
“79.81” and “3,192.40” respectively.

Explanatory Note:
This note is not part of the Amendment, but is intended to
explain its general effect.
This Amendment to the Training Incentive Allowance
Programme increases the weekly rate and the maximum
annual amount of the Training Incentive Allowance to take
account of a CPI increase of 1.82%.
The increases come into effect on 1 April 2002.
Clause 3 is a consequential amendment upon the Social
Security Amendment Act 2000.

Special Transfer Allowance Amendment 2002
Pursuant to section 124 (1) (d) of the Social Security Act
1964, the Minister of Social Services and Employment
establishes and approves the following Amendment to the
Special Transfer Allowance programme (as established and
approved on 13 November 2000).

of the programme is amended by omitting the expressions
“139”, “118”, “88”, “189”, “152” and “127”, and
substituting the expressions “143”, “121”, “89”, “191”,
“153” and “128” respectively.

This note is not part of the Amendment, but is intended to
explain its general effect.
This Amendment, which comes into effect on 1 April 2002,
increases the average regional rentals set out in the Schedule
of the Special Transfer Allowance Programme 2000 to
reflect movements in rentals.
