N31 014 b Objection E D Fraser

N31 015 b Objection Combined Territorial Authorities of Taranaki
Objects to the apparent lack of consideration of the Taranaki region’s community of interest in the proposed electoral boundaries. In particular, the inclusion of parts of the Waikato in the proposed Taranaki-King Country electorate when parts of South Taranaki have been included in the Whanganui electorate.
Suggested solution Establish a Taranaki electorate following the local government boundaries of the South Taranaki, Stratford and New Plymouth districts. This could extend to include Mokau and Awakino if required for population quotas. A new Whanganui-King Country electorate could be established with the remainder of the current Taranaki-King Country electorate split between electorates in Taupo-Waitomo and Karapiro.
N31 016 b Objection J J Probert
Similar to N31/001
Suggested solution The boundary for the proposed Taranaki-King Country be along the southern Waikato-King Country regional border.
N31 017 b Objection R G Probert

Suggested solution Similar to N31/016
N31 018 b, h Objection B R Cavey
Objects to the inclusion of the Opunake area and the balance of the coastal area of South Taranaki District in the proposed Taranaki-King Country electorate on grounds of community of interest with Hawera (which is in the proposed Whanganui electorate).
Suggested solution Include the remainder of South Taranaki (up to Stoney River) in the Whanganui electorate. To balance population, Eltham could be placed in the Taranaki-King Country electorate where its community of interest better lies.

N33 001 b Objection J F Stevenson
Objects to the inclusion of Kaponga, Manaia, Eltham, Hawera, Patea and Waverley in the proposed Whanganui electorate as their community of interest lies with Taranaki.
