- Constitution of the board of trustees—The board of
trustees of Te Kura Kaupapa Māori o Te Kotuku shall
comprise:
(a) 5 people appointed by the Minister.
(b) The principal or principal designate.
(c) Not more than 4 persons co-opted by the board.

Notice for Appointment of a Limited Statutory
Manager at Miramar North School (2916)
Pursuant to section 78M of the Education Act 1989, I hereby
direct the Secretary for Education to appoint a limited
statutory manager to Miramar North School (2916) because
of risks to the operation of the school.
The limited statutory manager shall have vested in him the
necessary functions, powers and duties of the board to
enable him to:
(a) conduct the performance appraisal of the principal;
(b) review and implement necessary changes to the staff
appointment processes; and
(c) review and implement necessary changes to all
personnel policies.
The limited statutory manager must advise the board on:
(a) the effective operational procedures of the board of
trustees; and
(b) the developments and implementation of strategies
to manage relationships among trustees, staff and the
community.
This notice takes effect the day after the date of publication.

Education (Early Childhood Centres)
Regulations 1998
Cancellation of Licence for an Early
Childhood Centre
Pursuant to Regulation 12 (1) of the Education (Early
Childhood Centres) Regulations 1998, and acting under
authority delegated by the Secretary for Education, I hereby
cancel the licence dated 17 July 2000, which was granted
under those Regulations to Paulette Leef in respect of
Knighton Whanau Preschool (34081), situated at
Knighton School, Knighton Road, Hamilton.
This notice shall take effect the day after the date of its
notification in the New Zealand Gazette.

Fisheries (Kaimoana Customary Fishing)
Regulations 1998
Fisheries (Kaimoana Customary Fishing) Notice
2002 (No. F213)
Pursuant to Regulation 9 (2) of the Fisheries (Kaimoana
Customary Fishing) Regulations 1998, the Manager
Fisheries, Ministry of Fisheries (acting pursuant to a
delegated authority in accordance with section 41 of the
State Sector Act 1988) hereby gives the following notice.
Notice
- Title and commencement—(1) This notice may be
cited as the Fisheries (Kaimoana Customary Fishing) Notice
(2) This notice shall come into effect the day after the date of
its notification in the New Zealand Gazette.
- Interpretation—In this notice:
(a) The term “customary food gathering” has the same
meaning as defined in the Fisheries (Kaimoana
Customary Fishing) Regulations 1998.
(b) Any reference to “Tangata Kaitiaki” has the same
meaning as “Tangata Kaitiaki/Tiaki”, as defined in
the Fisheries (Kaimoana Customary Fishing)
Regulations 1998, and means the person or persons
appointed under Regulation 9 as Tangata Kaitiaki
for general customary food gathering within the
area/rohe moana and confirmed in clause 3 of this
notice.
(c) The term “Kaimoana” has the same meaning as
“Fisheries resources” as defined in the Fisheries
(Kaimoana Customary Fishing) Regulations 1998.
(d) Any reference to “area/rohe moana” means all that
area of waters in the Bay of Plenty enclosed by a
line commencing at point on the shoreline known
locally as “Hauruia” in position 37° 42.28′ S,
177° 43.16′ E: thence in a north-westerly direction
for three nautical miles to position 37° 39.92′ S,
177° 40.78′ E: thence in a south-westerly direction
to position 37° 41.12′ S, 177° 39.81′ E: thence in a
south-easterly direction for three nautical miles to
a point on the shoreline in position 37° 43.45′ S,
177° 42.20′ E, known locally as “Kopiritoto”, and
then along the mean high-water mark to the first
mentioned point.
- Appointment of Tangata Kaitiaki—The Associate
Minister of Fisheries (acting pursuant to delegated authority)
hereby confirms the appointment of the following Tangata
Kaitiaki:
● Tim (Hemi) McRoberts; and
● Haki McRoberts
for managing customary food gathering within the area/rohe
moana.

Confirmation of tangata whenua—Kaiaio Hapu is
confirmed as tangata whenua of the area/rohe moana to which
the appointment of Tangata Kaitiaki relates. -
Power to authorise taking of Kaimoana for customary
food gathering—The Tangata Kaitiaki may authorise any
individual to take Kaimoana managed under the Fisheries
Acts 1983 and 1996, other than those Kaimoana that are taken
in fresh water, for customary food gathering purposes from
within the whole or any part of the area/rohe moana. No
customary food gathering of Kaimoana may take place in the
area/rohe moana without authorisation from the Tangata
Kaitiaki.
