Revocation

The statement of Government policy entitled “Statement to the Commerce Commission of the Economic Policy of the Government: Further Development of New Zealand’s Electricity Industry” transmitted by the Minister of Commerce, Paul Swain, on 8 December 2000 and published in the New Zealand Gazette, 14 December 2000, No. 166, pages 4342-4349 is hereby revoked.

Telecommunications Act 2001

Notification of Deemed Telecommunications Service Obligations Instrument

Pursuant to section 77 (2) of the Telecommunications Act 2001, the Commerce Commission is required to give public notice of every Telecommunications Service Obligations (TSO) instrument and deemed TSO instrument.

Accordingly, the Commerce Commission gives notice that the TSO Deed for Local Residential Telephone Service, referred to as the New Kiwi Share Obligations (New KSOs), came into effect on 19 December 2001.

Education Act 1989

Te Kura Kaupapa Māori o Te Kotuku

Pursuant to sections 146 and 155 of the Education Act 1989, the Minister of Education hereby gives the following notice.

Notice

  1. This notice may be cited as Te Kura Kaupapa Māori o Te Kotuku.

  2. This notice shall come into force the day after its publication in the New Zealand Gazette.

  3. I hereby establish in West Auckland a full primary (Years 1 to 8) school called Te Kura Kaupapa Māori o Te Kotuku and designate the school as a Kura Kaupapa Māori.

  4. The school will operate in accordance with Te Aho Matua.

  5. The special characteristics of Te Kura Kaupapa Māori o Te Kotuku are:

    (a) Ko tā taua whakaarohanga tuatahi ko te Oranga me ngā whakarurutanga me te whakakori me ngā aronganui a roto Te Kura Kaupapa Māori o Te Kotuku

     To ensure the well being and safety of the child within Te Kura Kaupapa Māori o Te Kotuku both physically and emotionally is the first priority.

    (b) Ko te reo me ngā tipuna tikanga aa iwi

     To strengthen and enhance the positive identity of the child by teaching in total immersion Māori the language, culture, art, dance and in the traditions of Māori culture.

    (c) Akonga te tamaiti te tuu rangatira me ngā ngākau tapatahi hai aarahi i te hunga tika

     To teach the child to have values, respect, integrity and dignity when dealing in all issues of life.

    (d) Te kaiako me te whanau o Te Kura Kaupapa Māori o Te Kotuku tiakina ngā tatau tamaiti o ngā mahi pai

     To ensure our children are provided the best academic curriculum that our kaiako, board of trustees and whaanau can produce.

    (e) E mahi tika tino kaiako ki ngā mahi o ngā rauemi

     To ensure our children are proficient in the modern world by providing them with the appropriate learning tools.

    (f) E whakarite ngā pānui he hira i te ao i naaianei kia takaapuinga ki te toi

     To provide communication and information technology so our children are proficient in modern technology.

    (g) Ko te nuinga o ngā tauira e whakaute ana i o raatau tinana

     To ensure that our children have respect for their bodies through the implementation of a sports curriculum.

    (h) Awhinatia te whanau e kōrero te reo māori te kaupapa me te tikinga i roto tēnei kura

     To provide support to parents as an extension method of teaching.

    (i) Ko te tino hiahia o te Whānau o Te Kotuku ko te poipoi i te tamaiti; kia rangona tōna ihi, tōna wehi, tōna tapu; kia tipu tōna mana me tōna rangatiratanga; kia tū pakari, tū rangatira ia hei raukura mō tōna iwi.

     To nurture the child so that his/her uniqueness, power and prestige be felt and heard so that his/her power and chiefliness grow in bounds and that he/she stands tall and strong showing leadership qualities as a role model for his/her people.

    (j) Ko te kura te whānuitanga o te kainga. Ko tā te mahi o te kura, kia mahi tahi me te whānau kia whakahāngai ki te horopaki o te ao o ngā tamariki.

     The school is an extension of the home. It is the task of the school to work closely with the whanau in matters that are real and meaningful to the child’s world.

    (k) Ko tā te whānau mahi ko te awhi, ko te ako, kia tipu ora mai te katoa o te tamaiti.
