Civil Aviation Rules

Pursuant to section 34 (1) (a) of the Civil Aviation Act 1990, the Minister of Transport hereby gives notice of his intention to make ordinary rules in the following CAR Parts:

Part 19—Transition Rules, allowing the use of GPS derived distance information on precision instrument approaches (NPRM 03-01, Docket 2/CAR/9).

Land Transport Act 1998

Notice of Proposed Land Transport Rule: Heavy Vehicles

In accordance with section 161 (2) of the Land Transport Act 1998, the Land Transport Safety Authority (LTSA), on behalf of the Minister of Transport, gives notice of his intention to make a rule concerning heavy vehicles, and advises that the proposed Land Transport Rule: Heavy Vehicles is now available for public comment.

This draft legislation proposes requirements that will contribute towards the safe operation of heavy vehicles on New Zealand’s roads.

A copy of the draft rule may be obtained by calling the LTSA Help Desk on Freephone 0800 699 000 or by visiting the LTSA web site at
www.ltsa.govt.nz/consultation/heavy-vehicle/heavy-vehicle-rule.html

The draft rule is also available for viewing at the LTSA’s seven regional offices.

Copies of the draft rule have been made available to groups and individuals who have expressed an interest in the rule.

Submissions on draft Land Transport Rule: Heavy Vehicles close on 28 February 2003.

Traffic Regulations 1976

Transport Act 1962

The Traffic (Selwyn District) Notice No. 7, 2002

Pursuant to section 52 of the Transport Act 1962 and Regulation 21 (2) of the Traffic Regulations 1976, and pursuant to an authority sub-delegated to me by the Land Transport Safety Authority of New Zealand dated 9 June 1997, I, Peter Graeme Croft, Manager, Safer Roads, give the following notice.

Notice

  1. This notice may be cited as the Traffic (Selwyn District) Notice No. 7, 2002.

  2. Those localities and roads on the plan numbered LT0259/7, entitled “Selwyn District Speed Restrictions at Prebbleton” and held by the Head Office of the Land Transport Safety Authority, and indicated by markings in accordance with the legend on that Plan, are declared to be:

    (a) closely populated localities at all times, pursuant to section 52 of the Transport Act 1962; or

    (b) 70 kilometres an hour speed limit areas, pursuant to Regulation 21 (2) of the Traffic Regulations 1976;

    as may be ascertained from the legend. The plan and legend are hereby incorporated into this notice.

  3. The Traffic (Paparua County) Notice No. 3, 1978* dated the 16th day of April 1978 is revoked.

The Traffic (Queenstown Lakes District) Notice 2002

Pursuant to section 52 of the Transport Act 1962 and Regulation 21 (2) of the Traffic Regulations 1976, and pursuant to an authority sub-delegated to me by the Land Transport Safety Authority of New Zealand dated 9 June 1997, I, Peter Graeme Croft, Manager, Safer Roads, give the following notice:

Notice

  1. This notice may be cited as the Traffic (Queenstown Lakes District) Notice 2002.

  2. The roads specified in the First Schedule are declared to be closely populated localities at all times for the purposes of section 52 of the Transport Act 1962.

  3. The roads specified in the Second Schedule are declared to be 70 kilometres an hour speed limit areas pursuant to Regulation 21 (2) of the Traffic Regulations 1976.

  4. All of the Traffic (Queenstown Lakes District) Notice No. 1, 1991* dated the 1st day of May 1991 is revoked.

First Schedule

Situated within the Queenstown Lakes District at Albert Town:

Alison Avenue.
Arklow Street.
Bernard Road.
Carlow Street.
Dale Street.
