Notice (No. 32) of Approval of an Amendment to Approved Financial Reporting Standard No. 37
Notice is hereby given, pursuant to section 29 of the Financial Reporting Act 1993 (“the Act”), that the Accounting Standards Review Board has approved, for the purposes of the Act, an amendment to FRS-37 – Consolidating Investments in Subsidiaries which has been submitted to it by the Institute of Chartered Accountants of New Zealand.
The amendment clarifies guidance given in the standard by deleting Appendix 2 and the second and third sentences of paragraph 4.37 followed by a consequential deletion of the last sentence in paragraph 5.9.
The approved amendments:
- are to apply to accounting periods and interim accounting periods ending on or after 31 December 2002; and
- are a Regulation for the purposes of the Regulations (Disallowance) Act 1989.
Copies of FRS-37 as amended may be inspected free of charge at, or purchased from, the offices of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of New Zealand, 40 Mercer Street (P.O. Box 11-342), Wellington, and 27-33 Ohinerau Street (P.O. Box 3334), Auckland.

Commodity Levies Act 1990
Commodity Levies (Eggs) Order 1999
Annual Levy Prescribed Under Commodity Levies (Eggs) Order 1999
Pursuant to section 4 of the Commodity Levies Act 1990 and section 10 of the Commodity Levies (Eggs) Order 1999 and on the recommendation of the 2002 Annual General Meeting of the Egg Producers Federation of New Zealand Incorporated, I hereby prescribe an annual levy of 35 cents per chick on the basis of the sale of chicks to producers by hatcheries during the year 1 January 2003 to 31 December 2003.
This notice will take effect on 1 January 2003.

Commodity Levies (Arable Crops) Order 2000
Foundation for Arable Research (Inc.)
Pursuant to section 4 of the Commodity Levies (Arable Crops) Order 2000, a levy has been imposed on, and shall be payable by, the producers of any arable commodity grown in New Zealand.
In accordance with section 12 (1) of the Order, the Foundation for Arable Research has determined the rate of the levy for 2003 to be:
- Herbage and amenity seeds, 0.6% of assessed value.
- Specialist vegetable seeds (such as hybrid brassicas, carrot, onion, celery, beet), 0.6% or to a maximum dollar value equivalent to the rate for open pollinated brassicas.
- Maize, 0.4%.
- All other small grain and seeds, 0.6%.
