Change of Rating—Combined Specialty Insurance Company (New Zealand Branch)

Pursuant to the terms of the Insurance Companies (Ratings & Inspections) Act 1994, the rating agency AM Best Company advises that effective from 20 June 2002, the rating of Combined Specialty Insurance Company (New Zealand Branch)’s insurer financial strength has been downgraded to “A” (excellent).

Dentists (Fees) Amendment Notice 2002 (No. 3)

Title and commencement—This notice may be cited as the Dentists (Fees) Amendment Notice 2002 (No. 3) and shall come into force on 15 September 2002. This notice has the status of a Regulation for the purposes of the Regulations (Disallowance) Act 1989.
Fees—Pursuant to section 79A of the Dental Act 1988, the Dental Council of New Zealand sets the following fees payable to the council specified in the attached Schedule.
Fees inclusive of goods and services tax—The fees are inclusive of goods and services tax.

¹ Temporary registration is restricted in the first instance to 1 year. Applicants are required to apply for an extension at the end of that year (for up to 1 year and a combined total of 3 years).

Insurance Companies (Ratings and Inspections) Act 1994

Change of Rating—New Zealand Insurance Limited and New Zealand Insurance (AI) Limited

Pursuant to section 8 (1) of the Insurance Companies (Ratings and Inspections) Act 1994, the insurer financial strength rating for New Zealand Insurance Limited and subsidiary New Zealand Insurance (AI) Limited has been reduced from “AA” to “AA–”.

The new rating, which remains in the “very strong” category, is the result of a change in Standard and Poor’s rating methodology and not of any change to New Zealand Insurance’s underlying strength.
