Revocation of the Reservation Over a Reserve
Under the Reserves Act 1977, the Community Relations Manager of the Nelson/Marlborough Conservancy of the Department of Conservation revokes the reservation as a local purpose (walkway) reserve over the land described in the Schedule and authorises the Nelson City Council to sell the said land not being Crown land and for the proceeds of sale to be paid into the council’s subdivision reserves account.

Declaration That Land is a Reserve
Pursuant to the Reserves Act 1977, and to a delegated authority from the Minister of Conservation, the Chief Executive of the Gore District Council hereby notifies that the following resolution was passed by the Gore District Council on 23 April 2002:
“That in exercise of the powers conferred on it by section 14 of the Reserves Act 1977, the Gore District Council hereby resolves that the piece of land held by the said council in fee simple and described in the Schedule hereto, shall be, and the same is hereby declared to be, a recreation reserve within the meaning of the said Act.”

Classification of Reserve
Under the Reserves Act 1977, the Community Relations Manager for the Otago Conservancy of the Department of Conservation classifies the reserve described in the Schedule as a scenic reserve for the purposes specified in section 19 (1) (a) of the Act.

120 hectares, more or less, being Section 4 (formerly Harwich Island), Block III, Mid Wanaka Survey District.
