Exemption of Hoists Under Regulation 6 of the Health and Safety in Employment (Pressure Equipment, Cranes, and Passenger Ropeways) Regulations 1999
Pursuant to Regulation 6 of the Health and Safety in Employment (Pressure Equipment, Cranes, and Passenger Ropeways) Regulations 1999, I, J. M. Chetwin, Secretary of Labour, give notice that all powered hoists are to be exempt from the following subject to the condition specified below:
- The requirement for design verification as per Regulation 18;
- The requirement for fabrication inspection as per Regulation 19;
- The requirement for design verification and fabrication inspection as per Regulation 20;
- On condition there is a Statement of Conformity, attesting that the design and manufacture of the hoist has been assessed as acceptable, provided by one of the following Classification Societies:
- American Bureau of Shipping
- Bureau Veritas
- Det Norske Veritas
- Germanischer Lloyd
- Lloyds Register
- Nippon Kaiji Kyokai.

The following notice is given pursuant to sections 50 (1) and 50 (5) of the Public Trust Act 2001 (“the Act”).
Notice
- Title and commencement—This notice may be cited as the Public Trust Common Fund Interest Rates Notice 15 August 2002.
(2) The determinations and revocation notified in this notice take effect from and including 10 August 2002.
- Interpretation—(1) Unless the context otherwise requires:
“agency deposit” means a deposit (not being an investment deposit) held as agent or attorney;
