Cessation of Anti-dumping Duties on Certain Men’s Footwear From China, Indonesia and Thailand

The Chief Executive of the Ministry of Economic Development gives notice that, in terms of section 14 (9) of the Dumping and Countervailing Duties Act 1988, anti-dumping duties on Certain Men’s Footwear from China, Indonesia and Thailand ceased to be payable with effect from 30 July 2001.

The anti-dumping duties ceased to be payable on that date, because at that date, the goods were not subject to review and 5 years had passed since the date of Notice of Reassessment of duty given, under section 14 (6) of the Dumping and Countervailing Duties Act 1988*, by the Minister of Commerce that the goods were being dumped and were causing material injury to the New Zealand men’s footwear industry.

Education Amendment Act 1989

University of Otago Council Constitution Notice 2001

Pursuant to section 170 of the Education Amendment Act 1989, the Minister of Education gives the following notice.

Notice

  1. This notice may be cited as the University of Otago Council Constitution Notice 2001.
  2. This notice shall come into force on the day after its publication in the New Zealand Gazette.
  3. The council of the University of Otago shall be constituted as follows:

(a) Four members appointed by the Minister of Education.

(b) The vice-chancellor of the University of Otago.

(c) Three permanent members of the academic staff of the University of Otago elected by the permanent members of that staff.

(d) One permanent member of the general staff of the University of Otago elected by the permanent members of that staff.

(e) Two members, who are or have been students of the University of Otago, appointed by the executive of the Otago University Students’ Association Incorporated or elected by the students of the university as they decide.

(f) One member appointed by the University of Otago Council after consultation with the central organisation of employers as recognised under the Employment Relations Act 2000.

(g) One member appointed by the University of Otago Council after consultation with the central organisation of workers as recognised under the Employment Relations Act 2000.

(h) One member, being a member of the Dunedin City Council appointed by that council.

(i) Three graduates elected by the Court of Convocation of the University of Otago.

(j) Up to three members co-opted by the University of Otago Council if and when it thinks fit taking into account the specific needs of the University of Otago and in order to ensure sound governance of the institution.

  1. Subject to section 173 of the Education Act 1989, the maximum term for any member, other than the chief executive officer, shall be 4 years. A member of council, other than the chief executive officer, may serve for a maximum of 4 consecutive 4-year terms.

  2. The powers of the University of Otago Council shall not be affected by vacancy in the membership thereof.

  3. The University of Otago Notice 1990 appearing in the New Zealand Gazette, 1 November 1990, No. 191, page 4179, is hereby revoked.

Private Schools Conditional Integration Act 1975

Supplementary Integration Agreement

Pursuant to section 10 of the Private Schools Conditional Integration Act 1975, notice is given that a supplementary integration agreement has been signed between the Minister of Education on behalf of Her Majesty the Queen, acting through the Senior Manager, National Operations, Ministry of Education, pursuant to delegated authority, and the proprietor of the following school:

St Joseph’s School, Levin.

The said supplementary integration agreement was executed on 30 July 2001.

A copy of the supplementary integration agreement is available for inspection without charge by any member of the public at the regional office of the Ministry of Education, 116 Victoria Avenue, Wanganui.
