Submarine Cables and Pipelines Protection Act 1996
Declaration Under the Submarine Cables and Pipelines Protection Act 1996
Whereas, pursuant to section 441 of the Maritime Transport Act 1994, the Minister of Transport did delegate those powers under section 12 (6) of the Submarine Cables and Pipelines Protection Act 1996 to the Maritime Safety Authority by an instrument of delegation dated 19 March 1997.
And whereas, pursuant to section 442 of the Maritime Transport Act 1994, the Maritime Safety Authority did delegate those powers under section 12 (6) of the Submarine Cables and Pipelines Protection Act 1996 to the Director of Maritime Safety by an instrument of delegation dated 26 March 1997.
And whereas, pursuant to section 443 of the Maritime Transport Act 1994, the Director of Maritime Safety did delegate those powers under section 12 (6) of the Submarine Cables and Pipelines Protection Act 1996 to me by an instrument of delegation dated 26 March 1997.
Therefore I, John Norman Keith Mansell, Divisional Manager, Maritime Operations, hereby make the following declaration:
Declaration
The Order in Council under section 12 of the Submarine Cables and Pipelines Protection Act 1996, entitled the Submarine Cables and Pipelines Protection Order 1992, shall not apply in respect of the following ship:

Therefore I, John Norman Keith Mansell, Divisional Manager, Maritime Operations, hereby make the following declaration:
Declaration
The Order in Council under section 12 of the Submarine Cables and Pipelines Protection Act 1996, entitled the Submarine Cables and Pipelines Protection Order 1992, shall not apply in respect of the following ships:
Kaharoa
Tangaroa
and workboats and/or small craft associated with either of those ships whilst working in the protected area designated “Area 7–Cook Strait” for the purpose of carrying out an acoustic survey for research on hoki for the Ministry of Fisheries and while under the control of the Ministry of Fisheries and with the conditional written approval of Transpower New Zealand Limited for the period from 17 July 2001 to 28 August 2001.
This notice comes into effect on and from 5 July 2001.

Niagara and with the conditional written approval of Telecom New Zealand Limited for the period from 10 July 2001 to 22 July 2001.
This notice comes into effect on and from the time of publication of this notice on the 5th day of July 2001.
