3. Amendments consequential on abolition of Disability Assistance Programme, and changes made by other enactments

(1) The definition in clause 3.1 of the programme of Health Agency is amended by revoking paragraphs (c) to (e) and substituting the following paragraph:

“(c) a District Health Board or other agency under the New Zealand Public Health and Disability Act 2000;”

(2) Clause 11.1.2 of the programme is amended:

(a) by omitting from paragraph (a) (ii) the words “Health and Disability Services Act 1993”, and substituting the words “New Zealand Public Health and Disability Act 2000”.

(b) by omitting from paragraph (c) the words “or any payment under the Disability Assistance Programme under section 124 (1) (d) of the Act”.

Special Needs Grants Amendment (No 2) 2001

Pursuant to section 124 (1) (d) of the Social Security Act 1964, the Minister of Social Services and Employment establishes and approves the following Amendment to the Special Needs Grants Programme (as established and approved on 18 December 1998).

Amendment

  1. Title—(1) This Amendment is the Special Needs Grants Amendment (No 2) 2001.

(2) In this Amendment, the Special Needs Grants Programme is called “the programme”.

  1. Commencement—(1) Clause 4 of this Amendment comes into effect the day after the date on which it is published in the New Zealand Gazette.

(2) The rest of this Amendment comes into effect on 1 July 2001.

  1. Amendments consequential upon Part 3 of the Social Security Amendment Act 2001 coming into force on 1 July 2001—(1) The programme is amended by omitting from clauses 9.5 (a), 15A.4 (a), 15B.4, 17.3.1 (d) and 17.4.1 (a) and (b) the words “a community wage” and substituting in each case the words “an unemployment benefit or a sickness benefit”.

(2) The programme is amended by omitting from clause 18.8 the words “a community wage” wherever they appear, and substituting in each case the words “unemployment benefit or sickness benefit”.

(3) The programme is amended in the manner set out in Schedule 1.

Omit the words “under any of sections 115, 116, 117, or 118” and substitute the words “section 117”.

Omit the words “an organised activity under section 111” and substitute the words “a job seeker development activity under section 110”.

Clause 11.7.1
Omit from the definitions following this clause the words “organised activity,”.
Add to those definitions the words “job seeker development activity, Social Security Act 1964, section 88A”.

Omit from the definitions following this clause the words “community wage,”.

Clause 15B.6
Omit from the definitions following this clause the words “community wage,”.

Clause 17.1.1
Revoke paragraph (a).

Clause 17.3.1
Omit from paragraph (d) (ii) (B) the words “an organised activity of a kind approved under” and substitute the words “a job seeker development activity approved for the purpose of”.

Clause 17.5.1
Omit from paragraph (b) the words “an organised activity” and substitute the words “a job seeker development activity approved”.

Clause 17.5.2
Omit from paragraph (a) the words “the community wage” and substitute the words “an unemployment benefit or a sickness benefit”.

Direction in Relation to Special Benefit Amendment (No 2)

To: The Chief Executive of the Department of Work and Income.

Pursuant to section 5 of the Social Security Act 1964, the Minister of Social Services and Employment makes the following Amendment to the Direction in relation to Special Benefit given on 10 February 1999.
