Notice of Prohibition of the Manufacture, Importation, Sale, Installation or Use of a Butterfly Shaped Nightlight : Prohibition of a Particular Nightlight

Pursuant to Regulation 102 of the Electricity Regulations 1997 (“the Regulations”), and acting under delegated authority of the Chief Executive Officer of the Ministry of Economic Development pursuant to section 41 of the State Sector Act 1988, I, Graham Boxall, Manager Operations, Energy Safety Services, hereby notify that the following nightlight as described below is prohibited from manufacture, importation, sale, installation or use in New Zealand for the following reasons.

This prohibition is to take effect on and from Friday, 13 July 2001.

Description

A child appealing lamp in the form of a butterfly, with a width of 100mm and having an on/off switch on the right-hand side of the butterfly, used as a nightlight. A 3-pin plug is attached at the back of the butterfly.
