Pursuant to Civil Aviation Rule Part 73.7 (b) (i), the following airspace details are amended with effect from 22 March 2001—

  1. A new low flying area is established south of Waipukurau (NZL562, Hatuma Lake).

Prescribed pursuant to Parts 71 and 73 of the Civil Aviation Rules, under a delegated authority issued by the Director of Civil Aviation.

Summary of Exemptions Granted by the Director of Civil Aviation

Pursuant to section 37 of the Civil Aviation Act 1990, notification is hereby given of a summary of exemptions, set out in the Schedule hereto, granted by the Director of Civil Aviation.

To: Andrews Partnership

With respect to Andrews A-1 Special aircraft, registration ZK-BLU

From the requirement in: Civil Aviation Rule 91.513 to ensure aircraft are equipped with radio communications equipment that meets level 1 or 2 standards specified in Appendix A.9 of Part 91 which is capable of providing continuous two-way communications, provided the aeroplane is equipped with a KX99 hand held transceiver.

This exemption shall remain in effect unless withdrawn in writing by the Director.

To: Each pilot operating an aircraft in aerobatic flight

From the requirement in: Civil Aviation Rule 91.701 (c) and (d) that each pilot operating an aircraft in aerobatic flight below 3000 feet, or carrying a passenger in aerobatic flight, shall hold an aerobatic rating issued under Part 61.

Provided that each pilot operating an aircraft in aerobatic flight, without holding an aerobatic rating issued under Part 61, complies with the provisos set out in the CARRIL dated 11 January 2001.

This exemption shall remain in effect until 31 December 2001 unless withdrawn earlier in writing by the Director.

This exemption is similar to general exemption 0/EXE/20 that expired 31 August 2000.

With respect to Boeing 737-300 aircraft registration ZK-FDM

From the requirement in: Civil Aviation Rule 121.373 (a) that each holder of an air operator certificate shall ensure each of its aeroplanes is equipped with a flight data recorder in accordance with B.6 of Appendix B of Civil Aviation Rule Part 121, only with respect to Part 121 Appendix B Table 1 Parameter items 12, 13 and 14, requiring the recording of pitch, lateral and yaw control positions.

This exemption shall apply until 30 April 2001 unless withdrawn earlier in writing by the Director.

With respect to CAR 47.101 (a)—Size of markings on underside of named helicopters

From the requirement in: Civil Aviation Rule 47.101 (a), that the holder of a certificate of registration shall ensure that each applicable aircraft bear a nationality and a registration mark in accordance with the specification in Civil Aviation Rule 47.117 (d) (1) that the height of the marks on rotorcraft shall be, on the bottom surface of the fuselage or cabin, not less than 500mm.

This exemption shall apply until withdrawn in writing by the Director.

This exemption is similar to, and replaces, certificate 99/EXE/90 granted on 23 September 1999.
